ahh, maybe i misunderstood you.my point, was that you can always hit the "quote" button and then add input or, not, either way, misunderstandings and such... well...
like you said, if it's silly, that's fine too![]()
ahh, maybe i misunderstood you.
Still, you did not hit LIKE on what i said to you before! i guess that means YOU HATE ME!!! im calling mommy on ya!
Just kidding of course.
Cheers mate!![]()
No sarcasm here (which is strange coming from me!) I just don't see the point of it. It seems silly.
there, there, i liked it.my point has been made then?you looked to see if I hit the LIKE button?
too funny
Edit: I can soooooo see "Baldwin" running home to tell mommy![]()
p.s. I'll go in the corner and cry now cause I didn't get any likes![]()
My point exactly! thats why i dont like it.
IMO this feature leads to inferences. Because it gives means to somehow "difereciate" peoples participation.
E.G. As you see i dint hit "Like" on your reply. you (or someone else) might infere that i dint like or cared about what you said. While the truth is that i DID care about it. Maybe i just forgot to use the like feature, or dont use it at all.
If i were to hit the like button on your reply, then i would have to do it for every other reply! otherwise people might infere that i dint like theirs! lol
So why add the "extra step" to reply to a thread?
I'm pretty sure that doesn't change anything. I've edited posts and the unedited post stays the same in notifications. The only time I've seen it wiped out is with "duplicate". Idk for sure, but if I'm quick enough, I've gone back to find posts that mods have deleated that way (shhhh...).
Wow this thread has 1223 likes so far.![]()

Yeah, but then you get mean people like me. I liked your post just to throw off your count!
someone mentioned that they use the "like" button to "call" someone back to a thread ....but that they generally don't like to use it?
...so, a few minutes ago, I "unliked" a few to see what would happen, (then for a couple of them, I hit the "like" button again,) since a few people were saying the like button was not important, or they don't like using it, etc.
And still another person, who said they find it silly to use the "like" button yet, they actually looked back to see if anyone "liked" their post?
I find it this thread interesting...the psychology of it all...it seemed as if some people were actually embarrassed about the whole "likes given" and "likes received" ...as if some are proud of not giving any or some were proud of receiving sooooo many more likes than they have given? and that there's a ton of sarcasm and dry humor going on lol....
.... either way, it's been fun reading all the posts so far![]()

Well then, I liked yours right back. So there.![]()
I'm actually surprised that ppl but that much meaning into it. For me, a lot of the time "Like" just means my internet connection is working that night. The end.
Good point about the "thanks"! i agree that 50 replies with simleys and "thanks" look messy, but thats about the ONLY use i can see for the "Like" button. And even then, why no put a "Thanks" button instead? ibe seen forums with that feature.Have you ever been on a forum like ECF without a "Like" button?
My experience is that every post is followed with empty posts of "thanks", happy faces or something similar. I won't do those forums anymore. Trust me, having a "Like" button makes for a much neater forum, whether you choose to use it or not.
I also assume most people here are adults and can take being "liked" or not. Sometimes I won't just because my internet is dodgy that night. If someone is that sensitive, they probably won't last long on any message board; ECF or Facebook.
I am glad there's no "Dislike" button.![]()
