My partner has never smoked. She used to hate the smell of cigs (can't argue with that) so I had to smoke at the back of the house with the door open. Since I started vaping she has no problem at all with me smoking in the house and often comments on how nice whatever flavour I'm messing about with smells.

But.. part of me thinks well there's still nicotine in there but the smoke doesn't linger like it does with cigs so I hope I'm not harming her in any way by smoking in the house.

Any of you live with people who never smoked who have any thoughts on this?
Nicotine improves memory, concentration, and attention.
And it looks like it might very well help prevent against Alzheimers and Parkinsons.

I blow my vaper in my wife's face just to make sure she gets a little.
Okay, not really, but yeah.

between here and there
My wife is an ex-smoker for 4 years.
At first she commented on how nice the vape smelled.

Now she complains sometimes, but I think it has more to do with how much I am spending and how much time I spend on this site.

As for second hand vapor, here is a recent study. It shows there is almost no harmful chemicals in exhaled vapor, and most surprising, no detectable nicotine.

Thank you Bernie. I knew I had read this, guess I just didn't remember where. Blame it on my senior moment. LOL

Been married to my tolerant non-smoking bride for over 44 years. Since I've been vaping (32 months), there's not a day that passes without me thinking, "OMG, how and why did she put up with my selfish nasty habit?!?!"

Da crucial question at dis point is, should I keep her?

Almost the same story here... except that I've been vaping for a longer time. On the other hand, I'm still 25 years behind you on the marriage...! :toast:

As for the crucial question, yes, maybe we should keep them... I guess... :D

Then immediately after this, in reply to something else -

My husband has never smoked and of course he & the kids are very happy that I have quit smoking....and living in the garage (which is where I smoked). I guess we won't know for certain if there's anything harmful about vaping until time goes by. But I don't feel like it's harming those in my household. There is no film on anything anywhere near where I vape. The vapor doesn't linger very long so it's not like anyone is being exposed to that for any long length of time.

LOL. I smoked in the garage as well. It wasn't bad when the weather is warm but when the weather's cold...brrr. I'd be out there with a down jacket on and one of those heat dishes. I'm so glad I don't have to do that anymore. My husband has never smoked either.

I smoked when I met my Hubby and I smoked in the house. I am sure he wasn't thrilled in some ways but he did marry me and he did not complain about me smoking unless it was directly bothering him like in the truck when we were four wheeling and had to arrange the windows so I could smoke and not have ashes blow his way.

He is thrilled that I started vaping and was a cheerleader whenever I told him how few cigs I was smoking. He is thrilled that I managed to give up smoking altogether at this point.

My wife of 19yrs is a non-smoker (I think she's smoked 2 cloves years ago). She hated my smoking, but never really nagged me about it. Though she would complain about the smell. She has a super sensitive scent detector and could actually tell if I switched brands of cigs. I always smoked outside away from open windows/doors. Now I get to vape where ever I want and she has only complained about the smell once (I just switched flavors to something she didn't mind).

My wife never smoked. I have vaped for 1 year plus. I still vape outside.. Old habit? not sure. Wife doesn't want me vaping inside. We have been a few 2-4 hour drives each way for kid functions. I did vape the whole time in the car without a word from any one.

Still not sure if I myself want to vape inside my house. Personal choice.

Did someone ask for a cheerleader?

My Dearest is an Rn and never smoked. When we bought our new house,I added a sun room that was supposed to be my smoke room. I quit smoking before it was completed, but the cats do enjoy it. I do DIY juice and always ask her to take a hit and tell me what it is,she protest and tells me to go play with my neighbor next door, who is a vaper. As far as the toilet seat goes,I have been trained to sit:facepalm:
