I picked up a VV from the classies. Not having used a VV Reo and thinking about a 2 ohm coil how many wraps does it take and what gauge wire should I use. Thanks Reonauts!
On my VV's I don't use the small coiling, I just free wrap about 4 untouching coils right onto my xc-116. I can't remember what guage I used, and I think it is about 1.5ish? It's been a while since I have had to make one for the VV's so now you have me wondering
ETA: yep, they are about 1.5ish. My guess would be that I used 30 guage?

By using the "Steam Engine" vaping coil calculator found at the hyperlink of my sig line, you can generate coil data to produce any coil wrap count/resistance/gauge you want - from supertrunkers 4 wraps of 32 on a 3mm mandrel... to 11 wraps of 28 on the same mandrel. ;-)

You're welcome. It pretty much obsoletes any lists or spreadsheets, except perhaps in the case where one wants to see what others have had success (or failure) with. Dampaskin has done a wonderful job of it... and a tremendous service to all those that are RBA users/experimenters.
His "added information" - which in conversations with Dampaskin he wondered if anyone would find a practical use for it - has turned out to be useful as well. A few days ago, a question asked prompted me to use Steam Engine to generate some comparison numbers regarding the length of coil tails. It can be found here.
