I started with blu's, $70 starting, then $15 for refills 4 days later.. saw it was going to be the same or more $$ than analogs, so I went to the ego twist, another $70.. then experimented with pre-mixed juices, samplers, and different clearo's.. roughly $60, $20, $30. So I'm up to $265 ish. Didn't really love a lot of the premixed juice, so I went to DIY my own, first purchase about $60, didn't like the concentrates (got a bad deal, watered down crap for flavors), and went to a different vendor, another $60..

BUT.. I was only spending about $100 per month on analogs (8 per day, not heavy).. so being up to $325 for about a month is insane.. or is it? Currently I have the makings for another 525ml of juice, so at my 6ml (being liberal with the usage, really around 5), that's about 88 days worth.

Now.. the raw supply to make the DIY stuff AFTER all the other startup charges is really about $26 (product + shipping) to make 500ml of juice.. so breaking that down...it's about 0.052 per ml to make.. That's what-- 3 cents a day at 6ml usage!

The pre-mixed stuff is first and foremost a complete ripoff.. people are raking in 1000's % in profits on this stuff, and most of it isn't as good as the stuff I've mixed as a complete noob.

Now if you go that route, expect to waste $30 in product just experimenting at first, but once you got some recipes you love, the cost of vaping becomes minimal, and hardware driven.

Check my sig for money saved. Money spent - $130 ~ but im eyeing that vamo v2. I should be good on juice for a month, then im back to square one. By that time however, the vamo would have been purchased. So all in all even if i never stay ahead of the game financially, i feel that the extra money spent goes towards my health/me feeling better.

Not sure I totally agree with you about the juices but I'll definitely concede it's cheaper to DIY ... I make some of my own myself but so far I've not been able to even come close to replicating some of the great juices I've tried and I've definitely tried. Perhaps it's just me.

Question though, what flavoring did you finally settle on?

I'm currently settled on the FA (flavor apprentice) line. I get it from wizard labs, but might start ordering direct from the manufacturer in larger quantities. So far my favs are licorice, cinnamon, spearmint, mocha, watermelon, etc..

I will admit I don't care for their tobacco flavors and will be continuing to search for better.

My problem with the already mixed isn't just the price- I couldn't find any that I truly liked. Most of them are just harsh.. I don't know what they are adding, but it hurts my chest a LOT, but I order my base and create the exact same 50/50 mix, same nic levels, and I can get the final product exactly the way I like it.. with zero chest pain. I have several creations so far that I can and do all-day-vape on.. and it's just great. I went DIY out of frustration with wasting money on samplers and juices I ended up hating, but after realizing the cost savings, It's all icing on the cake. I'm still waiting for about 30 more flavors to arrive and 1000ml of nic base, (another $80-90), but then I will be set for about a year, if not more. I haven't done the math yet, but a years supply for less than I used to spend per month, for product I prefer is just win/win for me.

I've built my own mod that runs on 4AAA rechargeable batteries (parts including batteries and charger were less than $20). It vapes better or as well as anything on the market. I make my own juice. Beyond that, I buy, even though I don't need that many, 5 tank cartomizers every two weeks. Factoring all that in, I spend about $10 a week and I'm slowly building a stockpile.

Gotta be disciplined.

I've vaped for a year and a half. Started DIYing my juice and rebuilding atties about 4-5 months in, but it was almost a year before I got my first mod (Bolt). I figure my juice costs me about 3-5 cents/ml, but I always buy supplies in larger quantities to save $$. I'm at the point now where I may spend $20-40 a month on little stuff, but if I want something more costly I usually sell off a bunch of stuff to get it, more or less just recycling money I already spent. I probly broke even a long time ago, but the wife doesn't see it that way, lol. I got enough juice to last about a year or so, and rebuildables galore, many of which will be sold off when I get my new ELA from Super-T. If people would stop coming out with cool new stuff I could finally stop buying em! I can't decide if I want to get a Reo Grande or wait for Super-T's extra goodies for the ELA after I get rid of the Vamo and extra rba's...

Been vaping for about 6 months now. I spent quite a bit during the first 2-3 months buying stuff to try out and getting backups of things I liked. Then I started DIY and the crazy spending kept right on as I purchased a bunch of nic base, flavors and supplies. The last 1-2 months, though . .I am spending less than $40 bucks each month and that's the way I see it going for a while.

I've got several pv's, clearos with plenty of replacement heads, an RBA and supplies for that and at least 2 years worth of nic-base . .so all I really need is to replace my flavors, pg and vg - plus I go through 1-2 Cisco Spec LR 510's ($8 each) per month.

I can't see a month where I'll spend more than $50 until either my nic base runs out or at least 2 of my ego's die and then I can reasonably justify getting a new PV . .although that new PV will probably be higher-end than what I'm using now.

Like most, I have spent way too much. First off... 2 ego c in a kit, a couple of clearos and a handfull of sample juices. By the end of the first week ordered a ego twist, a half dz. rebuildable clearos, extra heads/wicks and I think another 60ml of juice. Then I got into diy juice spent a bunch on flavors and base, mixing tools, bottles etc. By the end of the 4th week I had a APV ordered (Segelei flat top stainless telescope) and I love it! Numerous other toys (cartos, clearos, 3 pro tanks) Just ordered an IGO L time to start with RBA....:headbang:

As I didn't buy my mods I only spend about $20 a month vaping, tho I DIY my juices and I use rebuildables so my costs stay low.

Just because you may not care for vendor juice doesn't mean it is a rip off, most of the good vendors out there have spent a lot of time and money doing this, it is no more a rip off than the bakery that charges $30 for a cake you can bake at home for $3. It is business.

I think I might be doing good. Only $350 after 5 month and that includes startup. I have 4 various eGo type batteries, 2 rechargers a hand full of various clearomizers and 125ml of 100mg/ml liquid with proper paraphernalia. I can say the DIY mixing is a big money saver. The ejuices are now my biggest exepence. It is not necessary but I have been experimenting with flavours.

That is good....hope you see this to answer it...been thinking of making my own juice too...hows it going? Much of a hassle?

I am currently liking my setups with Cartos and Tanks. Works for me. but I am sure as I get settled in, that I will be looking for other setups and how they vape. As a non-smoker who was interested in Vaping, I started out with the Twist and also got the wife one as well. She is a light smoker and vaping was something she was very interested in as well. Didn't want to jump into an APV without knowing how long we will be in the vaping scene. So this jump means we are here to stay =)

Next leap will be some DIY juicing. The startup cost is not bad and the benefits of success far outweighs the consequences of failure.

Me too on juicing..maybe...interesting a non smoker taking up vaping!
