I used to smoke a pack a day of Marlboro regulars at $3.20, so far as my signature says I saved around $370 but:

Ive spent:
around $200 in v2 stuff
$150 on 510 cheap crap
$200 on Provape 1 plus extras
$60 on minivtube
$70 on blank sr cartos
$70 on tanks and 35mm cartos
$200 on juice

As you can see I'm pretty close to 1 grand! but finally I have the stuff I like, I'm stocked for at least a year for my vaping needs so, I'm far away from break even but now I will start saving from my initial investment.

Boyfriend is still in the red. He only smoked like 1 pack a week, and maybe add in two more packs a month because he'd lose one and give cigarettes to his friends when they asked. So six packs at $7 for American Spirits or his fancy Turkish Silver Camels x6 month=$42 a month.

$60-90 in ejuice from online vendors
$75 for an Ego-C kit
and then he blew like $100-200 at various brick and mortar stores. Most of that was extremely overpriced, BUT he did buy an Variable Voltage Ego Twist that he likes a lot better, and a bunch of cartomizers and Stardusts.

However, there's less arguments about him smoking all the time. He'd always try to do cold turkey and it NEVER worked, and he would never try to scale down his 3 cigarettes a day down slowly which irked me to no end.

So, a more peaceful relationship with less resentment on both sides, plus I put out more often and make him kiss me all the time since I don't have to worry about ash tray mouth.

He's stressed about how his batteries keep going down the crapper not holding a charge, but I'd say, all variables considered, he could probably spend another grand or so and come out ahead. So once he finds a good ecig (probably a provari since those seem most popular for VV and good customer service) that's when $$ will stop going out as much. However, I might start vaping 0nic, so I'll probably be losing money not even taking into account that I don't have a cigarette addiction, but more so because he'll be stealing all my good .....

But! Luckily, he's found his all day vape (BB's Malty Toffee) plus I just ordered a bunch from Juicy Vapor. I gather it stops being expensive when
a) one finds a battery that puts out consistently at nearly the same level, and b) when you can find your all day vape so you stop having to buy as often different flavors to try out.

I used to spend $200 a month. If you spend $200 a month on vaping stuff, it won't look like cash you are saving, but you are saving your life.

Analog prices are all over the place, mine ( Winston ) are $4.50 a pack not that much compared to some. So I'm just curious how much were your analogs and are you saving money vaping?

Ive been vaping for just 2 weeks and Its been fun finding ejuices and hardware so it's going to be a while befor I "break even" and start saving money. Side note: now that I vape I believe if it cost the same as smoking analogs I still wouldn't go back to them.

Well here in mass its 9 bucks a pack... so between my 10 cigar and the wifes pack a day....in 4 months we put 20 a day in a jar...just bought 4 disney 4 day passes for our vac ...not bad for 4 months

It took me about 6 months to settle in and break even, but I'm up to a whopping $705 now! I just buy juice now, and the occasional batch of cartos (which I reuse like crazy).

...but that's cuz I've been too broke to buy into the latest and greatest tech out there (like clearos, mods and fancy batts) - which is cool, cuz I'm perfectly happy with the gear I have! :)

I posted this about 5 weeks ago and TODAY is my "break even" day!! whoo hoo!, I've got my Volts, very pleased with them, got my liquids and accessories , enough to last me another month or so. Now don't get me wrong I am definitely ready to do some more shopping and may very well dig myself into a small hole from time to time but today, I'm saving health, and money.

I'm also a RYOer and spending about $30 a month. I know there are other benefits but would I actually save any money? (I mean after the initial investment)

Yes, you definitely can save. But this vaping thing has become a hobby or even an obsession for most of us. If you don't hang around here too much, after learning what you have to learn, and sticking to one good setup, and learning DIY.... And NOT ogling all the new vaping stuff that appears every other day lol. Then yes, you can save!
