I'm not sure how to answer.

I see the first month as the 'learning curve' initial expenditure / get comfortable money which I have just passed and feel is now over with.

I don't see myself spending more than ~$50.00/month on juices/cartos, and I'm good for PV's.
I don't have any urge to buy PV's, that particular craving has not tethered itself to me at all thank goodness.

So if this is a 'long-haul' maintenance question, I'd answer $600.00/year once past startup.

But ask me in a year, we'll see how I did.

This year is big spending for me but next year I will only be spending roughly $65 every 6 months or so (depends on how quickly I vape 120ml's of juice), I am buying certain supplies in bulk this year so it keeps the future costs down and I am going to limit myself for right now 2 mods (1 custom and the other in my sig) for the rest of this year and till 2013 hopefully (I love my custom mods) but if I find another mod that is customizable to my liking then that just might change (during 2012 I will be able to afford almost any mod under $500 since I am buying in bulk this year).

PS..I think I repeated myself several times but blame the disgusting weather here for my absent brain power atm.

In excess of $800 my first year of vaping

My sig banner reflects this. BUT, not counted there is also the $250-300 a year chew habit that I quit around day 1 with PVs

As kingfatty above said
plus its a hobby for me
Exactly. And this is a relatively cheap hobby for me. The time I spend lurking here is time I stopped spending lurking for car parts. I'd never dream of dropping the $500 I would on a whim, for a piece of metal, now on a PV

hmmmm an interesting thread... well i RECENTLY got into vaping, about a week... and i've already spent $380 and going to spend another $80ish on flavours and diy... (im looking for a vender who ships real dk tab to canada, if you know it please pm)
but i know i will break even pretty soon in about 4 months i'd say or quicker... i wasn't a heavy smoker but about 6-8 analogs a day and it was still costing me $110-$130/month on analogs... i spent a lot already in a short time cuz i bought joye ego-t, and provari, love em both btw... i dont miss analogs at all... sorry off topic there... any ways im looking to spend between $20-$40/month which would include an atty+juice... and as much gadgets i love don't have the money to spend it!... so overall im really happy i switched for 2 reasons...#1 health, #2 budget.
cheers

How can I answer? It changes every month!

I way overspent to get this thing happening----and no regrets. Settling down to more of a routine now.

Something like -- How much did you spend in your first 3 months. How much do you routinely spend now on monthly basis, would be more applicable and perhaps more accurate data.

First 4 months- spent a lot of money going from a magma to a V3 plus lots of e juice flavors
next 3 months spent some money on DIY stuff and batteries and of course an eGo tank that is now a backup only
recently... about $30 a month with cartos and e juice, found my fav pv- its a 5v box mod by JonnyVape, with a regular boge carto, and diy blackberry champagne 70/30 at 10 mg/ml. actually, I have not spent a dime this last 2 months- I got multiple months supply of the stuff I like 3 months ago and just mix up a new supply of my e juice when needed- usually 120 ml at a time. Analogs were $10 a pack when I quit, so I am probably far ahead in the savings game (gotta love NY) :)
yep, I just looked at my sig line and I am ahead in the savings. I smell better too!:vapor:

I've been spending quite a bit, finding the right hardware, juice and all the ' stuff ' to make it easier to carry it with me. Sometimes it feels like I'm living in my car, I want to have EVERYTHING I need with me. Once I find what works for me, I'll spend just what it costs to maintain my habit. At least that's my reasoning now :)

I vape about 5ml a day... I spend about $20 per 30ml bottle of juice so that alone costs about $100 a month... Factor in atty's and batteries and I am probably spending about $140 a month with shipping costs included... 140x12=$1680... That is about $5.60 a day which is pretty equal to a pack of analogs....

I'm not really saving any money, but I am not smoking either so it's all good!!! :)

I JUST QUESTIMATED SINCE IT CAN BE DIFFERENT EACH MONTH, SOME MONTHS I CAN GO ( NOT MANY THO) WITHOUT SPENDING $ FOR ANYTHING. IT'S THE SALES AND THE NEW PRODUCTS THAt GET ME. jUST A LIL NOTE FOR THOSE ASKING QUESTIONS ABOUT E-CIGS; I HAVE ENJOYED EVERYTHING ABOUT VAPING AND THE COMMUNITY HERE IS WONDERFUL. SUPPORTIVE AND ENCOURAGING FROM DAY ONE TO PRESENT, AND IT'S BEEN OVER A YEAR!!!

I just tallied up my reciepts and its hovering just over 7 clams for a year, but Im sure there were a few I missed... LOL
My initial outlay was 90.00 for a ego kit, a box of cartos, extra atty, box of carts and a coupla bottles of juice... and ALL of my buys are regulated to the same amount I would have spent on gags, at carton prices.

Saving money only has to deal with the bigger, brighter and trickier they make the "gotta-have-its"
after all thats said and done, as long as it vaporizes the juice and I can get at it... its doing its job
I dont NEED a Darwin or Reo... et al. however, that being said... you buy a good solid rig only ONCE

Thanks fer asking Angus :p
