DIY as much as you can. A pack of 36 flavor concentrates is 40 something dollars. VG and PG can be bought in super bulk. It IS an initial investment, but it's worth it. It's very easy to do once you get it right.

I talked to a guy who said he spends more on juice than he did on cigarettes- HE is doin it wrong.

3 packs a week= 15 dollars x 4= 60 dollars a month in cigarettes (for me)(my money now goes to hardware)(which i do NOT spend 60 dollars a month on). Do you're own calculations, and look into DIY juice, coils, mods, etc.

EVERYTHING can be done DIY. (very philosphical)

That's right! My DIY juice costs me $1 tops for 10ml and that lasts me a couple a days - and I chain vape! After a few tries (and abysmal failures) my coils are now turning out beauties and I have enough kanthal and cotton to last me into the next century. I have so far spent a lot of money - just under $1500 of which around $150 on shipping only since I have to order everything from abroad, even though I go the Fasttech route whenever | can - but from now on I expect my spending to come to a crawl. I will only need to replace whatever flavours run out.

So a lot of ex-smokers come to camping for both the healthy reasons and the cost effective reasons.
However let's not kid ourselves
ONE OF THOSE THINGS JUST DOESNT BELONG
Personally my lovely minimum wage check goes out the door to the vape shop REALLY QUICK. I'm a very heavy caper, and I tend to run out and spend about 40 a week. Granted I like to buy new builds and explore my options but still. How much do you spend?
I've posted this a few times before.

Over the course of thirty years of smoking anywhere from one to three packs of cigarettes a day, I spent somewhere in the neighborhood of $40,000 on cigarettes with nothing to show for it.

Yes, I've spent a bit of money on my collection, but I'm okay with it, because I'm not smoking. I didn't get into vaping to save money, I got into it to save my lungs.

I was forking out at least $100 a month on cigarettes. For the past 7 1/2 months, I've been spending ~$25 every other month or so on liquid. The rig I started on, and the 'hardware upgrade' I did a few months later cost me less than $50.

I've spent a lot. I think I am coming to a head on that. I've tried, and own a ton of attys. I know what I like now, and surely have more than I need.

I spend too much on juice, so my next area of research will be diy.

I'll also be making my own mods. They won't be cheap, but they will be nice.

I would like to add a few more mechs as insurance, just in case. I also have a couple of clones yet that I like very much, so need to buy the authentics when I'm able.

Hadn't really thought about this till I saw this thread but in the two and a half years me and the wife have been vaping our total outlay is about £700 compared to the £7200-7500 we would have spent on tobacco vaping has been dirt chip. I now diy our liquid and all my tanksare rebuildable so ongoing outlay is cheap, my wife is happy with her ego's and ce4's so buy a 7 pack of ce4's from fasttech every couple of months cost about £7 her ego's about £11 maybe two a year. For me I got 200 metres of kanthal and enough cotton to go for decades so no cost there.

We got into vaping for health reasons I had the daily morning hack and she was starting to get it the money saving part has been an added bonus.

I DIY menthol @5mg so juice is pretty cheap. I rebuild my own coils, so that $10 investment is going to last quite a while. The only thing left is mods. Just picked up a Segelei mini and MVP 20w so that's probably over for a while.

I go months without spending anything, then drop $200 all in one month. Still a lot cheaper than 2+ packs a day.

I spent thousands of $$$ in the nine months I been vaping. I probably have about 30 Ego's laying around, a couple Spinner II's, a Vamo, over 100 CE4/5's, handful of Kanger style pro tanks, various mech mods (4), maybe a dozen RBA's, and recently I switched to RTA's and picked up 3 Kayfun V4's, 2 Kayfun lites and 2 more on its way, an Orchid V4. Then I needed the VV/VW mods so picked up an Istick 20W & 50W and a Clouper mini. That wasnt enough so have on order a Sigelei 30W, a Istick 30W, a Smok Xpro M65, and an IPV mini 5. All that plus a few hundred in DIY supplies.

But looking at it I spent on average $100 a week for two cartons of smokes. Thats $400 a month or $3600 for the 9 months I been off the analogs. Now I have all these cool shineys and probably saved at least $1000 from not smoking and I feel great.

Wife and i got into vaper about 2 or 3 weeks ago. First week cost less then both of our cigarette budgets ($200 two weeks combine). Next week after that spent about eh almost $100 at the local b&m trying different stuff. This week I've been looking at ordering online even some of the more expensive juice online is cheaper then the b&m. Like I keep hearing about nicoticket, alhusion, and itcvapes. Think I'll drop some cash at nico and maybe a bottle or so from itc. Would go straight with itc prices are amazing but need something vape ready lol so I can escape the b&m I mean it's still cheaper then real smokes but I think I can make it even cheaper.

Idea the wife and I had was just start ordering from itc large 240ml bottles two a week until we just have a insane closet full of flavors lol but worried not sure how long juice stays good.
Some manufacturers say 1 year, others 2 years before the nicotine is much lower than at conception. Also, PG is good for 2 years and VG is 1 year. I'm a budget vaperer and I mix my own liquid with flavors from Capella's. I get my nicotine from NudeNicotine along with PG/VG and did the math only yesterday. I spend 5 and a half cents per ml. Check out Fasttech for some other ways to save. And congrats on Vaping.

I'm in the few bucks a week camp. After 10 months of buying just about anything, then going through the "im a collector" phase, I hit break even at about 12 to 15 months compared to the cost of smoking. Now its a few bucks a week and I have some nice equipment to make some insecure vapers feel bad about themselves and call me a vape snob even though I don't care what anyone else vapes with.

the minimum wage in my country is $200 per month so you might not be able to spend for e-cig with that kind of salary. Having said that cost for stinkies per pack is around $1.
I smoke 2 packs per day for 13 years but the price for stinkies before was only $0.50. I am guessing that I spent max. 4K for 13 years of stinkies.

Going into vaping, it is not because of the money because of course it won't beat stinkies.

8 months into vaping now and so far I spent:
    - iJust Kit from Eleaf: $30
    - Vamo V5: $60 (expensive cause i bought this from local B&M)
    - Aerotank Mega: $50
    - 3 Efest and 2 VTC4 and couple chargers: $90
    - Tobh Atty clone: $30
    - Manhattan clone: $60
    - Slo-Jo clone: $60
    - Orchids v4: $10 fasttech (by this time I am having better information hence cheaper or more competitive pricing)
    - Lemo: $35
    - Smok Xpro M65: $60
    - Subtank Mini: $30
    - Smok Xpro M80 Plus: $65

So, for all the hardwares, around $580. I got a dozen of drip tips from fasttech and local B&M but all of them might cost me around $50 only.

Besides that, supplies should cost me $100 for all these months. I still like to explore with different kind of builds and wicks so I would normally rebuild every 2 days unless I don't get time (but I have terrible insomnia so I could do it when I can't sleep).

Now, juice was the expensive one. I spent around $50 per week. So, 8 months supposed to cost me around $1.6k already.

    8 months ciggy - $480, 8 months vaping - approx. $2.3k

It's a hobby + needs now with my e-cig. If I want to save money, the country is not the place for e-cig. Can't beat $1 per pack ciggy.
