Can someone explain the difference to me?Do the 16340s have less mah?
between
AW IMR 16340 and the
AW RCR123a is that the one Jay sells has a protection circuit to limit the rate of discharge as a means to make sure it doesn't explode. In doing this it works well in stacked (5v) settings and stops a lot of burnt and too hot hits. The IMR is a different battery internally, made with 'safe from explosion' chemicals and specifically engineered for quick and hard discharge applications (like vaping).
I do not own any AW IMR, but I have 4 of the red unbranded IMR 16340 that COV sells/sold. Mine are rated at 350mah and hit very similarly to the AW RCR123a from Jay... maybe just a touch hotter. Even though they have a 350mah rating vs the AW's 750mah, they last me about the same length between charges (GLV2 mini with 1.5ohm cisco 901 attys).
For that matter, my Ultrafire (blue ones fit, silvers are too wide) hit so close I cannot tell which batteries I have in.
For 5v, stick with the black/silver AW Jay sells... for 3.7v, it matters less.
