Quick question.... How long do your coils last and or how often do you change out your set-ups? I have been 2+ weeks on mine and it still is the same as day one. I am using 28ga w/ 3mm silica wick coming in at about 1 ohm, using an Igo-L on my Natural in 18350 mode. I only vape one liquid and think that might be part of the reason. I guess I am lucky in that regard finding a favorite all day, every day, vape....regardless of what device I am using, which might be another part of it. I do switch between this set-up and my kicked Vmod XL through the day. I find the Natural set-up to be a little harsh in the AM and vape the XL for the first few hours of the day. Just trying to get an idea of what some others have experienced....

When my performance drops it is usually my coil gunked up and I either take out the wick and dry burn them then replace the wick, or if I don't feel like messing with it I just make another one. When I use mesh, I can just rinse it and then dry burn the whole thing and I have had one last months.

There is no set time really. It is all about the vape.

I've been using Genesis types for quite a while; and I can't say that I've ever HAD to replace a coil. The only time I replace one is when I get a wild hair about something I want to experiment with. I dry burn my coils every once in a while, and brush the gunk off them, if need be. I have no idea how long a coil lasts, before it ultimately fails. I have several RBAs, and have a couple that are in regular rotation that have coils that are probably 3 months old; still going strong.

This is pretty close to what's been said in the last two posts...
When my coils are gunked and when I want to try a different coil setup.

On a side note... Don't be afraid to change your coils more often than needed. The only way to get good at anything is practice. Wrapping coils is no exception. Don't let the fact that a coil is still working keep you tearing it apart for fear of never getting it back.
It's better to have the ability to make a great coil than it is to have a great coil...

I'm using some #500 solid wicks that are months old. No wicking or flavor issues. I have changed the wire out I think 3 times on one & 2 on the other.

I vape unflavored almost exclusively though, so there is rarely any build up, and it tends to gunk only the coil & not the mesh. Just another sweet benefit to avoiding flavors.

I been rockin the same coil for a couple months now. The wick is a much different story, as I use cotton, so that get's changed out about every 3-4 days. Just burn it off, dry burn the empty coil clean and thread a new wick. Takes just 2 minutes.

It's sad, though, cause I got in a couple new atties I want to try out, but this one's going so well and I really don't feel like setting something else up, so I just stick with what I have out of laziness!

Thanks for the reply's by all of you. Pretty much confirmed what my intuition was telling me. I get on average of 4+ months out on a Cisco spec 306 on my Vmod XL and figured these would be about the same. I can see I will probably be changing out the wick more often than changing the coil out... Thanks again...
