Seems to me I read that the projections are that ecig business has expanded 30% per year over the past couple of years and is expected to continue at that rate for at least the next 5 years. I've been seeing the Blu commercials more frequently, as well as one or more other brands having commercials late at night.
Last night, I saw an actual full length infomercial for an ecig company on a mainstream network channel. Actually, the information presented regarding how it works and the pros and cons was very good. The product, probably not the greatest. Something like $29.95 for a cig-a-like battery and 6 cartomizers with a box to carry them in. Of course mentioned to ask about the "upgrade" option for a PCC version, which they did not mention the price. I would imagine it also is one of those deals with autoship for the prefilled cartomizers, which I'm thinking they were saying cost $1.95 each. Of course the usual false claims of 1 to 1 1/2 packs each carto. I'm thinking only regular and menthol, as well. The company was Alternacigs. Oh, and lifetime warranty, even if you lose it, supposedly. Not sure how they could do that without some pricey catch.
The cig-a-likes are what is going to take this mainstream, in my opinion. I still prefer the form factor and still use my Blu Premium 100 kit quite often. But, it's really fun to try all these other gizmos, too. Most people don't want to be bothered with the muss & fuss that we all go through with filling juice and such.
