So I'll be starting my first build here soon (using the egrip rba base) and have spent hours watching build tutorial videos since I ordered it.
In about all the videos I've seen either a pretty large dual post system or a 3 post has been used and there seems to be more then enough room for coils and cotton. The egrip seems so tiny I'm afraid there won't be any room for any unique coils or anything bigger than a standard micro coil.

Anyone using the egrip rba find this to be a problem? Post up some pics of what build your using in this itty bity thing. Or anyone else using something of similar size.

I watched a ton of videos before getting my rba and it looks so much bigger in the videos, once I got mine it is like how in the...am I supposed to make this fit in there?!

It's no easy feat. I go a tobeco kayfun v4. I like it ok so far. I'm sure I'll like it better when I get better at building it. but right now I'm glad I can use it without coughing my face off. So sorry I can't help, but I can offer support. Try using like 30g wire And make your coils a larger diameter. I want to do dual coil but am stumped how to make it fit as of yet. So I'm rocking the single coil. At least until my eleaf istick gets here. My mvp 2.0 seems like it's got about all the coil it can take. Another issue with the diameter. A long skinny coil takes it forever to heat, but the same resistance made out of fewer larger loops not a problem. Also, you may have to take down your nicotine strength. I did. I had to go from 25mg to closer to 10MG so there that's all the newbie insight I have so far. I'm more here for support.

The egrip base is really not a base made for coil experimentation. The base is made for single horizontal coils, and although i build my egrip for my wife to use, i dont believe it will fire under 1.2 ohms. Your right, the egrip base is also much smaller than a standard deck also, so it really isnt beginner oriented. With that said, just practice and dont give up, you'll get it! But if you really want to experiment with different types of coils, i suggest getting a cheap rda clone, like the plume veil, to see if its your cup of tea.

I got an egrip early on in my vape experience, 6 months ago, but only got it working as I wanted a few days ago. First there was a problem with the USB port, device swaped out by retailer. Then I got the RTA accessory, didn't understand how to wick it properly so it leaked. Leaking issues solved but by then I was getting fussy about taste and vape quality. My standard for vapor and flavor is the N mini at 7-10 watts with a 50-50 liquid. I've discovered that if a rebuild the egrip with a 1.8 ohm coil and restrict the draw the same as the N mini it (same for my Kanger mini RTA) I get results similar to the N mini. The best way I've found to reduce the draw on the egrip is to wedge a bit of aluminum foil in the air intake. After all that the egrip is not leaking and the vapor and flavor might be a bit better than the N mini.
