Hey agilipuppy, welcome to ECF!

Couple questions back atcha first - what e-cig are you using? Do you know the model or brand?

Second, what do you mean by not getting a good drag? No vapor? No throat hit?

16mg sounds like it should be enough, but everyone is different. I smoked full-flavored, sometimes filterless, and 30+ a day, and 18mg is as much as I can take. Some people here who smoked like I did are vaping 24mg or even 36mg, so you just gotta experiment to find your level. It may or may not correlate to how much/what kind of cig you smoked.

Oh here's my post! HI! The E Cig I m using was bought at the mall and is called 21'st Century. (((I can't post teh website) is their website if you've never heard of it. (I'm in the USA)

I don't know, it cracks and doesn't give me a good 'hit' of vapor, though the guy who sold it to me was smoking like crazy. I can't feel it in my throat, which I guess is important to me (never knew!)

Thanks!

Well, if you bought it at a mall... it's most likely not the best model around, and you most likely paid a LOT more than you had to.

I'm having a look at the site right now. It looks like a two-piece e-cig. A battery and a cartomizer.

I'm not sure what model it is. Is it the size of a cigarette?

If you're not feeling a good hit at 16mg, there's something wrong. You should definitely be getting throat hit at that level. I get some throat hit all the way down to 8mg or so.

Have you tried a few different carts on it?

My guess is either how you're using it, or quality issues. You should be taking long, slow drags and letting it fill your mouth, and then inhaling. Try that. If that's not helping, I'm thinking either a weak battery, or just low-quality carts.

To be honest, I'd take a look around and try something else. If you like the idea of the 2-piece system, give the KR808D-1 a try. That's what I have, and I love it. You can get a kit for about $35.

It's slightly bigger than a real cig, but the trade-off is that you get more power and a better quality product.

Couple things you can do...first, make sure it's charged up. ;) Second, get a q-tip or something and wipe all the threads off...the battery and the cartomizer both. I'm fairly sure the liquid they use in your cartomizers isn't the best quality...so you're going to need to order some quality liquid to refill them with. I'm also going to bet that they aren't completely full and you can put a few drops in a brand new one and it won't flood it. With a fully charged battery, clean threads and some good liquids (I highly suggest Ms. T's and Tasty Vapor e-liquids) you can get this thing working well, I'm sure of it. :)

E-cigs work differently than cigarettes. The nicotine absorbtion is a bit slower.

I don't use mine like real cig. I take a couple drags, put it down for a few minutes, and take a couple more. And if that weren't such a waste, you'd probably do it that way with real cigs too.

But since you can't really re-use cigs (well, you can, but it tastes gross), you just smoke them all the way down when you probably weren't craving it anymore after the first few drags.

Just use it however feels right to you.

Bianca: (Love your avatar BTW!) Funny! Ok, I didn't even know you refilled these things yourself. Ugh, this should be interesting. The person that got me to try these things uses the tasty vapor I think too, though I don't really see her online anymore to ask. So should I get the threads out of the hole? I don't remember seeing any threads...

Mistress: Wow that makes sense, and is kinda cool! Hopefully I can eventually quit smoking all together, but while i'm not this seems like a good alternative. :)

By threads I mean the connection parts of your device...the "screw" parts...I don't know how else to say it! LOL! The metal parts that screw together...wipe those off!

Actually...you're gonna have to kill one of your cartomizers in the name of research...when you think it's empty, open one up...I don't care if you have to destroy it to do so, but we need to see how it's built inside to see if you can easily refill it yourself. If it's set up like and 808 or 510 cartomizer, you're golden. If it's set up like a GreenCig cartomizer...not so easy to refill, although some of folks here can do it. Just need to know exactly what were working with to get it going to the best of it's ability. :)

OK, now, when you screw off the cartridge, does it come apart also? Like, does the plastic piece pull off of the screw to the battery piece? Or let me ask it this way, your replacement cartridges, do they all have "screw to the battery" pieces on them or are they just plastic pieces with a plug in them??
