I received the AR mod that I ordered today, I was under the impression that it was authentic but now that I have it I don't think that it is.

I bought it used, it came with the dog tag that has the serial number on it, it looks spot on but on closer inspection the logo engraved into the bottom button isn't very neat, it looks like a blob rather than a clearly cut T which I see on all the pictures of them, also the serial number is black, the same as the body. All of the ones I have seen pictures of have contrasting color serial numbers, on the black it would be white, etc..

The serial number is ar5302. If it isn't authentic I am not too concerned about it because I paid very little for it (credit exchange website, long story) but I am just curious if I got duped.

Thanks for any help

Hmmm, I'll check mine and update when I get home. I want to say the serial number on mine was blacked in as well, but I'll double check.

Ok, thank you.. I have 2 other questions since you have one, is the T logo on the bottom very clear or does it look like it's barely etched in there and on the fire button does yours have a spring in it, or 2 magnetized washers?

I have an authentic AR mod. My fire button came with a spring, but I switched to the magnets they sell. Here's a picture of the bottom switch & serial number. Hope this helps you out.

Mine looks about like that but the logos are not etched as deep as they are on your's.. Still remains unknown but I am going to keep assuming that it's a clone. My wife got one also and her's looks like mine, not like yours.. I'm stumped. I was going to contact tacmods about it but I can't find any contact info for them.

I have another quick question for you guys. My wife's AR is not wanting to fire properly and I have determined that it is the brass contact on the fire button. My question is does anyone know where I can get a new one? I have checked online and can't find any parts other than magnet conversions. I also cannot find contact info for tacmods so I am lost but her mod is basically a paper weight without a new contact, help!
