I tried to make it easy! You are welcome.threads/videos/instructions like you just did makes me think i can make one of these. Even if I don't build one, I still appreciate what you did. Thank you![]()
You are over thinking it. I made a similar piece after seeing Jeff's 'Fog Log' thread. I had some 1/4" clear plexi laying around, I cut a circle to fit my copper pipe snugly then drilled the center and ran a philip's head brass screw (actually I guess it was a bolt as it had nuts) through it (as he descibed). I filed the head of the screw flat where it contacts the battery. I didn't even solder the other side, I just used double nuts to clamp the positive wire. I then epoxied it in position (he soldered in a retainer ring). You could use an non-conductive material you have laying around. My only issue now is that top connector for the batteries..... Not quite sure how you made that part. IE what kind of hose and what are the "rings" you use in the center?
Well, I mainly used what I had laying around. When using a hose, you can get like 40 of the rings and they take glue really well. Plus they fit snug inside since they give a little. And as for soldiering, I've done so much of it in the past 2 weeks I've gotten good at it, and that makes sure all of my contacts are well joined, especially the regulator. You are over thinking it. That wasn't directed at you. You did a fine job and your second vid showed things nicely.Well, I mainly used what I had laying around. Thanks for your comments.
In my video, I'm using a TI regulator. You have to make sure all the connections are secure and the middle prong MUST be grounded to whatever the neg contact of the battery is. Check to make sure before throwing them away.Damnit Damnit Damnit!!! Just fried 2 of my TI voltage regulators on this... Seems there may be some difference between what is at madvapes and the TI version used in the "detonator" videos. It works perfect for about 3-5 drags then it jumps up to 6.7 volts or so vapor diminishes and its dead. Gotta make a madvapes order as I am kinda on a mission now.... 8-o![]()

Make sure you test everything with a voltage meter. That will tell you what's going on.This is weird.... I know out of 3 different times my connections had to be good enough, I'm not the best at soldering but not that bad either. I made good connections and heat shrunk everything. The only thing I can think of is I am using the smaller 510 connectors from madvapes and maybe they don't make a good enough ground. If anyone can think of anything else please LMK. I'll try to upload some pics tomorrow so you can look at my work.. I WILL NOT give up on this mod!!![]()
I haven't ordered any chrome pipe, I just happened to get lucky one day in a plumbing store... they had some left over from a special order. It's awful expensive!Great video!! do you know a source for chromed pipe??
Well your atty connector should make no difference as long as you have made a good solder connection to it. The problem could be continuity between the connector to the cap to the body. This is weird.... If anyone has an interest in buying one of my mods, let me know. I may sell some of them. It all depends on how many people would like to buy one. You can post here if you are interested. I'll have to make a decision.

You can get it either 5v alone since it has a regulator, or a 3.7/6v type, like the Silver Bullet. I use 18650 3.7 2400mAh for or RCR123a 3v 750mHa batteries. I have a few more models coming out, so I'll post the pics on this thread and a new thread to take a poll which ones people like the best.
