Easiest way is to boil them.
Check one of PBusardo tutorials here:

Best method i know!

Pete Busardo's tutorial on cleaning cartos is right-on.

The main points are a) find an effective solvent (in his case, boiling water), b) dilute-dilute-dilute-dilute-dilute, and finally c) dry-dry-dry-dry-dry. Those are the three principles of successful carto cleaning.

By the way, his review of crab e-liquid is a classic. Well worth searching out on YouTube.

Haha, every time somebody asks me how to clean a carto, I direct them here. The only tip I can add is to 'spin' the freshly cleaned cartos in a clean sock. It will get the liquid out much quicker. Still let it sit overnight, it just gets it even dryer beforehand and I find that it eliminates the stale water taste you get on the first hit.

Meh.

Boiling will not take all that burnt crap off the coil, which is what you really want to do in a cleaning process. It will reduce the amount, but it won't be residue free (unless you have a bottom coil and you repeat a few cycles of dry-burn/rinse, which will bring the coil that much closer to death anyway)

I am happy with my balance of no wasted time and energy with cleaning, and my slight cost increase and love of a new fresh carto!
