How to convince a friend to start vaping

I have a friend who is a heavy smoker (as I was - 3PAD) and who flatly refuses to have anything to do with vaping. He won't even try it - gets very irritable with anyone who mentions it. He aught to listen - he has been given warnings by his doctor who told him that he is showing signs of early stages of emphysema.

I am sure deep-down he wants to quit (I know he's tried patches, gum, etc in the past), but he is a very stubborn person.

Has anyone got any ideas on how to deal with him? Anyone else had similar situation?

No clue, I have one as well, he tries mine (I host a card night where friends come, drink play cards, I recently quit, so I leave an extra PV on the table for the rest of them [all can use different drip tips]) they all try during the night, but are convincing them selfs that it doesn't work (vaping worked for me) and Iv seen them smoke less analogs on these nights, they are just firmly against it.
I have some sticky icky on highest nic I could get (mount baker) on order, maybe that will give them a fighting chance.
Worth me trying

I have a friend that is dead against it, had the flu and STILL smoked cigarettes and hacked her way through. And she has a tendency to go into bronchitis. I can offer to set her up, I can tell her how much better my lungs are, but I cannot make her mind up for her no matter how much better it would be for her.

WHEN he's finally ready, he'll have someone there to guide him thru - that's great!

(still not locked?lol)

The only reason it would get locked is people misinterpreting the OP's thought by thinking he was referring to anything BUT tobacco. If you notice, the OP is from the UK. One of my UK friends calls cigarettes fags. Other people are derailing this into something else due to their not understanding the OP's slang. Since we all know the rules against other things, it would seem to me it was self-explanatory and no one would post anything else. But then again, there is always going to be someone...

Yes, I was referring to tobacco. It didn't cross my mind that it meant anything else - sorry for confusion

The thread title still needs to be changed, regardless of his intentions.

It isn't about nationality, it's about ECF policy.

Please understand, I am aware of the policy about talking about illegal substances. Tobacco, is legal in the UK and the USA. When a UK individual uses the word "..." for a cigarette, the American has to understand the context. When my friend said "going for a ..." I was at first a bit taken by surprise, but quickly figured it out! Americans need to overcome the fact that the world does not indeed revolve around them and learn that other countries use different nomenclature. Especially since ECF is a UK forum!
