Also, the particular juice you're using is a key factor. I get wildly different th from not only different brands, but from different juices within a brand line. Does this happen with every juice, and if so, have you branched out?

Yes, this.

With PG, coils, and wicking not being necessary contributors (since you get the same symptoms with 6 mg 100%VG in an evod on a provari), the juice becomes suspect.

How much do you consume, generally, and, per above, have you varied flavours?

ETA: BTW, the coil units in the evod are stock? Not rebuilt or rewicked?

I think what you are getting is NOT throat hit. If i understand you correctly, the "throat hit" gets progressively worse the more you vape? That wouldn't be throat hit.

Throat hit would diminish the more you vape as you get desensitized to the hit. So my opinion is that it might be something else. Flavourings, additives, pg, vg, temperature of vapor, dry hit, hot spots, uneven heating of coil, etc. These are your more likely suspects.

Try unflavoured.

I was fine, until I got pneumonia, and the medication really trashed my throat. That is long past, but since then I am unable to vape any flavours. I presume my throat is now sensitive to them ... not an allergy, as such, just a sensitivity, like to sulphites.

I kept reducing the "power" of the equipment I was using, and find now I have no problems with a cartomizer and unflavoured in a simple Joye 510. I tried some flavoured the other day, and didn't make it through a single carto fill-up before my throat was raw.

I am allergic to VG, and vape 100% PG with no throat problems. I am working on NETs now, and they don't bother me either. Only the synthetic flavours.

So far, every type of Juice, every type of PG/VG, even 100% VG.

I have tried making my own juice, and at least 15 different companies thus far.

As far as hot spots, dry hits, all those things, not that I am aware of. I have even gone to several local vape shops and had them build my coils, same effect.

All evod coils were new, out of the package, non rebuilt.

It became too much again, and I fell off the wagon unfortunately. Letting my throat heal a bit, then back on the horse. What I don't understand is this: I never had these problems when I was just using the ego C atomizers, but they never produced enough nicotine to settle my cravings.

I think your throat is irritated;

6 mg, unflavored, evod, 3.7 volts, 50/50 or 20/70 for a week; plain stock coil silica wick;

Higher nic - more throat hit
Higher pg more throat hit (I personally am slightly sensitive to pg so i dont vape high pg at all I stay around 50/50 pg/vg for good vapor production, flavor and mellow throat hit.

Low resistance wont necessarily cause more throat hit so much as lower res. allows more power to be applied on a fixed voltage device, which means higher wattage, higher voltage.

I find that medium wattage meaning 7-10 watts depending on device provides the best experience, to me too low wattage and not enough flavor/ vapor, also sometimes too low wattage can make for kinda of a rough vape.

A bottom coil design will also give you a cooler vape and a more mellow throat hit, top coils designs are warmer and a little harsher ( but good in their own right)

Also a tank with adjustable airflow may help you I didnt see if you mentioned what you are currently using. loosening the draw can help to becuse the vapor is not as heavily concentrated.

Also mouth to lung inhale as opposed to lung hits.

Hope this helps good luck :)
