I just don't understand why people care what others think or say...

I don't understand why people are on Facebook. From what I've seen, 95% of it is people's vacation pictures and what they had for lunch. I'm not interested in either.

The best use I've found for FB is 1) logins for comments on articles, and 2) drawing public ridicule to Comcast for their abysmal customer service.

I just don't care if someone tells me vaping is bad. I don't do anything. Why should I? I don't earn a living selling vaping products. It's not my job to convince people...
Ok then..... Just remember that when it all gets taken away because you just didn't care enough to be a voice in the community. Don't be the first in line complaining because you lost your right to vape.

I want to jump into this one, but in a diplomatic way, not defensively. How would you respond?

From a friend on FB (who doesn't know that I smoke/smoked/vape)
Here's how you reply - tell her you know people who were not able to quit cigarettes except by vaping, not patches, not chantix, or anything else worked... who had COPD, has not smoked in a year, and vaping has helped them tremendously by allowing them to quit cigarettes, no more coughing in the mornings, significantly improved lung function. I would be one of those. Good luck, spread the truth!

I don't believe the fear mongering. Vaping isn't going anywhere...
It makes no difference to me whatsoever what others I don't know think of vaping. I don't understand those who wish to lecture and 'educate' others...

I think starbucks is a long way past being hipster now, there are many many coffee shops in chicagoland that are hipstier than thou. Starbucks is mainstream.

I dunno. I don't get the "sissy" part or how being a hipster/your choice of drink/nicotine delivery has anything to do with "sissyness" but then again people are loosing their minds over target not labelling the boys and girls toys sections thusly anymore.

People are stupid. And the simple brainless jellyfish will be around long after humanity v1 blows itself up.

Sounds like you handled it well. I might have made a joke about being called a hipster, but it does sound like their mind is very made up.

Vape on :)

I don't understand. I don't care. Not my problem..... Blah Blah Blah......

From what I've read of your posts in this thread there isn't much you do understand or care about so why did you even trouble yourself to post here?

You must not have read or understood the premise of the thread. Someone said something negative about vaping and how should one respond. Why respond at all? Why does one feel it is their responsibility to correct others? Busybodies on both sides are bad for vaping...

I would say, I do not understand doctors that do not research the the latest trend in medical science. Especially those that are not willing to look outside the box of accepted standards. I would not want one of those types to give me a diagnosis. I really can not stand "penicillin" doctors.

I have already left 2 doctors because they would not think outside the box. 2 misdiagnosis and the unwillingness to research further. Each was reported to the Ohio medical board. They are fairly respectable docs in the community. What is sad is when a graduate fresh out of UC medicine does the research and consults with fellow colleagues to arrive at the correct diagnosis.

Granted they were 2 rare conditions but that does not excuse them for pressing the wrong diagnosis. One as simple as more vitamin C the other as an overactive thyroid. The docs response? It doesn't happen in kids that young. Well Sherlock, I guess it does. Yes, years later I am still angry at them.

I wouldn't say she was a RL friend, but I'm very careful where I wade in on touchy subjects, mostly because I'm somewhat of a public figure in my home town, and one that works with children at that. I don't need to jeopardize my career because I said too much on FB, yk?

I wouldn't jump on it at all then, by your own words in your first post you said she didn't know you vaped and now you're saying you're a public figure, you work with children and it's possible that a comment could jeopardize your career.

I'd leave it alone, I'm all for advocating and teaching people when it comes to vaping but will I put my family's well-being aside just so I can jump on someone and tell them their wrong on Facebook or anywhere else? Not a chance! The chances of you ever changing her mind on something she feels she's an expert at is slim to five below zero.

Very similar to my own experience. When I began suffering "hot flashes" at the age of 38, I was ASSURED that I was "far too young for that." Well, that must be why my menopause was FINISHED at the age of 47. When most women's is just beginning.

All part of why I absolutely loathe and despise doctors. They can't find the speck in ANYONE's eye, for the LOG in their own... and then have the temerity to charge an outright fortune for their 'services.'

Doctors and weathermen... get paid even when they're wrong. What a total RACKET.

PC Reply: That's very interesting and I value your opinion.

Honest Reply: A person who uses words like "sissy" in a lame attempt to encourage insecure people to agree with them on Facebook for fear of being labeled less than "manly" should do some looking inwards before speaking again. Now go sit in the corner.
