Oh man those pictures are horrifying. The only thing worse was my mom bought a farm with a septic system. She does not understand these things (and my goodness I might not either if not for the husbands and child) and she had it like 8 years, and never did any maintenance. It was a gigantic tank and septic tank guy wound up like, wading in it, elbows deep. He as super cheerful at his lot as he made sure things remained unblocked as they emptied. I think the cheerfulness maybe had something to do with the utterly impressive bill he handed my mother.

Surely? Didn't like the REALTOR say anything? Like, you should check the septic tank? IDK maybe she/he did and my mom did it and etc. and then decided like "Oh.... so you check it when you buy/sell it?"

IDK those pictures do make me wonder given your utterly cheerful and happy nature, maybe you are the second coming. So help me out here, Aspirin or Advil to take the headache away?

Why did someone have to die for EVERYONE's sins? God's like OPNIPOTENT like couldn't he just say, "Screw original sin, I have decided against it, it shall be no more." I mean, he sure took the long way round on that one I don't get it. It's okay if you don't know the answer, I've asked a few preachers that and they didn't seem to have a logical answer to it.

I don't mind a lack of logic in my religion to a certain extent though. My own personal Creator like can be like that sometimes. Weird. However, if you can answer the second question like, coherently I WILL KNOW.

K I am out of here, my apologies for the off-topicness.

Progress!

When enough has been cleared, the crushed and cracked part is obvious.

Clean cut with a hacksaw behind the bad section (tape served as a guide). On the right you can see how much the bad piece was broken.

Excavated under the end, cleaned it, test fit a coupler that's on one end of the HDPE triwall. Even though the existing pipe is a bit out of true (slightly oval), the coupler has plenty of give, goes on cleanly. As this is within 1' of the fence edge I'm not worried about weight on that piece, though I may put blocks on each side for extra protection,

Time for a run to home depot - 10' triwall and thin wall 45 and 90 degree elbows.
crushed pipe looks like schedule 40,, shouldnt schedule 80 be used in areas that freeze?

It's all done with thin wall, not even schedule 40.

The repair is "this close". The homedepot I went to only had 45 and 90 elbows. I've got end-to-end connections, fine for now, but tomorrow I'll go to a different HD to get a 22-1/2 elbow, replace the 45. Right now I have a reverse pitch on the patch because of the geometry; 22-1/2 will let let me flatten things out, get a proper downhill slope.

I definitely don't get thrilled by the leach field stuff, but there's a sense of accomplishment doing simple manual labor and figuring out a successful fix. My day job is desk jockey (engineer), but I enjoy most happy homeowner items (electrical, carpentry, plumbing,...).

My least favorite part of home repairs and projects is having to constantly go back to get another tool. You can guess what you’ll need all you want but it never fails you always need more tools. :)

I have always found you to have a swift and agile mind. From sewage to God to original sin, all in a "fix it" thread.

The 22-1/2 elbow let me get a clean connection, maintaining a slight downward pitch. The block is temporary, I'll fill so it's locked in that position.

I'll likely added a couple of blocks on the left edge, protection for the slightly oval end, start backfilling from that side.

I lucked out on this round. The only tool buy was a 10" hacksaw, convenient for slightly tighter spaces (and I was too lazy to go to our camp for my other one [emoji3]).

I have plenty of tools but I'm talking about having to walk back to the tool box to get another tool I didn't bring to the job thinking I wouldn't need it.

And that's worth it at any price! :)

You've got that right. Last night was the first time I've really not felt comfortable in the living room. Quite a bit of Freon must have leaked. My wife has fibro and is way less tolerant of warmer temps.

    Be prepared...

    buy her a jacket!!!

It was not uncommon in the past for her to turn the air cooler then go grab a sweater or something. I just shake my head and keep my mouth shut.

My wife opens the window with the air conditioner on. I've begged, pleaded, and bribed her to not leave the window open with the AC on. I've tried countless times explaining why. She doesn't get it. I gave up. The AC is always on and about to die. Gonna be one of those things where I'll have to buy an AC unit every 5 years to support her addiction.
