Wish I knew of a hardware store around here that had it. I bet someone does.

Yeah, HD sells by the foot but it has to be delivered or shipped. Takes better part of a week.

Do you have a Tractor Supply? They sell rope by the foot (many kinds and thicknesses) and most are in stock on huge rolls. I have 100' of 1" cotton rope that I cut down to a manageable useful lengths as it wares out and frays.

Could just be the store in My Area... But it seems like HD did a restructuring of their Inventory when COVID hit. And many things Loose Nuts/Bolt/Fasteners seem to now come more Pre-Packaged.

Wouldn't surprise me if they did the Same for Wire/Cable.

About 6 months ago I bought some ROMEX when I upgraded from Copper to Fiber Internet. I needed to add an Outlet for the Fiber ONT in a below house space that has the Water Heater/HVAC. The Home Depot guy said I should use UF (Underground Feeder) Cable because I was below structure. I think it was about $30 for 25 Feet.

I asked him if I could get it by the Foot? And he said Not in that type of cable. That they had made space for more Network and Audio/Video cable. I took that to mean that they Didn't have UF Cable by the Foot. But he could have been saying that they Didn't have ANY Solid Molded ROMEX by the foot.

Shop lifting and sale volume are prime movers in packaging. I have often wondered what shop lifting costs the consumer nation wide just in packaging costs. I want one nut, I have to buy six, forget where I put them and then go back to buy another six a year later.

Much of the stuff I buy seems to have a lot of expensive and difficult to get into packaging.

ACE sells by the foot. They had a 5 foot hunk laying there. $2.59/ft. Sold!

I really like Ace. It is one of the few stores left where I can buy one bolt at a time. I will add Tractor Supply where you buy nuts, bolts, etc by weight. Both sell a lot of stuff by the foot or piece rather than a package. However, I am forty-five minutes, on a good day, away from Ace here in East NoWhere, KY.

After running the romex thru the wall I ended up with 8" extra on each end that I will use to hook to the outlets.. I'd rather be lucky than good. :)

Sounds like you caught the God's of Home Repair on a Good Day.
