If you want to do a high quality but tedious job I would recommend polishing compounds in varying degress of coarseness with a buffing wheel. The only ones I could get a hold of in the UK were these: Silverline Tools - Power Tool Accessories / Polishing (scroll down to the polishing bars) but you should find similar from many other brands local to you. Each compound is finer and finer further down that list, you start with a coarser compound to remove the thicker scratches and work your way up to the white. This may be a bit much for most people and depends on what the condition of the original item is like and how badly you want (or will even notice) that last 1%.

I am a little sad about my ggts brass from the last order. Because of busy days before christmas i hav not been able to take a good look at it before now. If you can see from the bad photos with the phone, it has two scratches on the tube. One on each side - just opposite each other. They seem quite deep, so i wonder what you do with scratches like this. Can they be polished?? or do i have to live with them. This is a tube most for collecting so i wanted it to be shining ;)

Run, its almost impossible for me to send a GG like this for sale. 6 eyes check them before they come to market and 2 more eyes are my seller's eyes. If you bought it from Vasillis, he checks so well all GG that he sends me back some pieces that the most of the time I cant see why he send them back to me. I am not telling you that you lie to me (thats the last thing you have to think!), but maybe someone in your house did this without your knowledge and was afraid to tell you? Its only a thought:)
Of course I will change it for you without cost Run. Please talk to vassilis about this

To be fair and honest Imeo, the GGTS run before this last one had a few come from COV with pretty deep markings near the button. I had the same markings on two of mine but they were not so deep that it warranted a complaint and I buffed them out after a light sanding.
It looked to me like they were markings from pliers or maybe a bench vise and from the pics that customers sent in on the COV forum, they were all in the same area.
Other than blaming the issue on the post office at first (which was impossible because no packaging was damaged) COV handled the issue gracefully with the folks who truly needed it. I'm sure that the posts with pictures are still there in the COV forum somewhere from that time frame.
I only tell you this because it is the truth and I think that you have the right to know if you did not. And no check system is perfect so people must understand this. All who know you, know that you are a man of integrity and pride in your products and should not be afraid to bring something like this to your attention and I know that you would want to know. It is my guess (and obviously only a guess) that it is more likely to occur at the reseller.
Having said that, Runju's marking are not the same as I and others had on the previous TS run.

I hope that you respect and appreciate me bringing this to light my friend.

Thank you very much for the information River. I didnt read Bruce's forum lately but I know that in the last batch I had a problem on packaging and Bruce talked to me about that. I had packaged the GGTS with buttons on them and button of every GGTS scratched the other GGTS near to it. I talked with Bruce about this issue and he polished them locally. But I didnt know that people had already received some units first.
Thanks again for the info, next time I will send GGTS without button installed on them. But I am still trying to find out how those 2 scratches left my attention. They are big and deep. Anyway, its my mistake. Things like this happen but at least we have the best service from GG sellers so they will replace any tubes like this at once

ugh, i wish i had known about this. i actually have a GG Stealth from the one of the initial run where there are minor scratches but also a significant chip/dent on the side of the brass top cap and ring, bought from a vendor who is now no longer a GG supplier... at the time, i did let them know about the issue, but they told me since GGs were "handmade", that imperfections were to be expected... =(

I would love to know the perfect polishing process.

I am currently using shark hide, and doing it by hand. I have a hard time getting the brass shiny in parts.....

Too much SH makes a mess. First time with SH use it three times. polish on - off and rinse off w/dawn dish detergent, then again and then again. People use too much and make a mess usually. Also if never used before or have filthy brass you need to do it several times just because

This is what happens when you take your time - by hand - also SH needs to be stirred. Hopefully it was stirred before sending to you if you were in a co-op. Else its not right.
