How to tell when coil has gone bad?

Ok so about a week and a half ago I bought an iTaste mvp 2.0, and it came with an iClear 16B (dual coil) tank. And I must say I really love the tank and the mvp. However last night over a period of a few minutes I kept getting less and less vapor from my iClear, until now I do not get any from it at all. I know it's not the mvp that's messing up, but the iClear because other tanks are still working on my mvp. I'm sad because the iClear was my best tank...

So did my coil just burn out or what should I do?? I had only had the tank for slightly over a week...

I learned the hard way.. I always keep extra coils on hand. With mine, the resistance keeps going up by .1 ohm increments just before the coil dies. Does the MVP have a built in ohmmeter? My iTaste vv does. I have a Kanger and can usually get 4 - 5 days out of a coil but I vape a lot. As far as I know, the longest lasting factory built coil is the BVC for the Nautilus. I don't know what coil the 16b has but my guess is that it went kaput.

Yes a coil can just all of a sudden go from acceptable to pffft as far as vapor production goes. Take the coil out, and check to see if there isnt a bunch of liquid under it. This could cause some problems, also you can try a dry burn. (rinse it, let it dry, put the coil in the bottom piece, put that {without the tank} on the mvp and fire it for a few seconds a few times, then rinse and let air dry again).

I havent used a 16b, but i have used others of the i-tank series, and I never was impressed with the longevity of their coils, so a tank a day for a week, which is more than 15ml of juice... is pretty good for those, IMO. As others have said, always have spare coils around.

Ok I just put the tank back on and checked the ohms... And it says "non" which I assume means none as in the mvp 2.0 isn't even detecting There is a tank on it. Does this happen when a coil burns out? Or does the coil still read ohms after burnt out?

"non" can also mean that it is out of the range that the device will fire at. Either you have a short.. or the coil is gunked/burntout, either way.. sounds like time for a new coil.

Either your coil burned out somehow or it's possible the positive pin got pushed up and is not making contact. Since your other tanks still work, most likely the pin on the VV3 didn't get pushed down, but that's also possible. If it got pushed down a tiny bit, maybe it's just not making contact with that particular tank.
