How to use small switch w/o regulator

I was looking at getting a small switch but I don't think I can just run the wattage through it:

I see how to do it with a regulator and the control but what if I just wanted 3.7 volts and don't have much room?

I've made plenty of straight throughs with the small switches and they work great, for a while.. You just need to make your design so the switch can easily be replaced because it will burn up eventually

Ah ok, it's not a problem after I read this. So I can just use a regulator for 3.7 volts. I also added a cap though I'm not sure if it's needed with 3.7. Hopefully it gets to MN by Wednesday. It's going to be a long drive to the PNW, though a good one

I lose about a half a volt. Using the 4 pin regulator, 3.8 V at the battery, the 3.3 make it to the atty/carto.

I believe you wire it exactly the same as if you were going with two batteries.

Is that why the regular 510 batteries put out ~3.2v? I was eyeing the little switch on my regular batteries the other night.

probably.. most the 510 batteries are mosfet driven to increase the life of the tactile switch.. Even most of the passthrough's use a mosfter.. One big advantage, even with the voltage loss is the most of the new ldo regs or mosfest incorporate short circuit protection.. Kind of a cool bonus feature...
