I recieved my first 510 from cignot and I ordered some 25 mg eco-pure liquid. The label scared me a little. Labeled as highly toxic, same label as you would find with Strychnine. I have read in posts that getting a mouthful of e-juice is fairly common and they are still around to write the post. But in the DIY juice threads there is mention of having a few drops of 50 mg spill on your hand can be lethal. Am I overreacting or are there horror stories out there?

AT 25 mg I wouldnt worry too much, I have gotten a drop or two in my mouth , just spit it out and rinse your mouth. It will burn a bit so you will want to anyway.Wash your hands well too.

50 mg juice is not ment to be vaped without cutting it. It can be dangerous to handle
you just have to be carefull not to slosh it around and clean up very well when done.

Anything higher then that I will not do or work with as yes it is very dangerous , too high and you really need a lab type setting to deal with it.

Cignots ecopure label scared the crap out of my husband too lol.. I had to do alot of re-assuring. I've never personally had any accidents or handled anything higher than 36mg premixed stuff.. but I have gotten a few mouthfulls from blowing out attys before. Just unpleasant and kinda burns my lips is all. Didn't kill me or make me sick ;)

It is possible to get some juice in your mouth if you have over-filled your cart. But, usually it feels like more than it really is and your first instinct is to spit it out or wipe your mouth, then take a drink. We've been vaping 24mg juice for 10 months and I've had many times when I've had some juice get in my mouth or on my hands but had no problem.
Just don't rub your eye.
Like anything else you just need to be a little careful and clean your hands or mouth. The DIY people deal with much higher strengths and can get into more serious situations, and that's why they all take precautions. I'm sure a DIYer can tell you more specifics.
Now...welcome to the forums and enjoy that 510!

at 24mg you are looking at absorption of 3mls to do any damage.. and it would have to be rapidly absorbed since it breaks down in the body in around 2 hours..

i have had 100mg liquid on hands wiped it off, had 36 mg in mouth a bunch of times..

but remember we have a tolerance to nicotine.. a dose that might make us feel a bit sick could kill a child or pet..

some 25 mg ...
If some of that gets on one's fingers refilling a cart, I expect there are plenty who put it in their mouth.

I would expect a slight burning sensation as it is quickly absorbed, that's my guess.

One time I saw a guy pick up a jug of kerosene, take a big gulp & swish it around in his mouth awhile before spitting it out. He thought it was the water jug & was swishing it around in his mouth trying to decide if he liked the taste!

LOL I would have spit it out immediately.

From what i read a 40mg dose of nicotine is a lethal dose for an adult. I am not sure if that's an iv dose or oral dose though. Nicotine has different rates of absorption into the body depending on how it is taken.

Less nicotine will be absorbed when vaping than if ingested. Just don't drink your juice, keep bottles secured like they are poison (which it pretty much is), and wash anything that juice is spilled on.

I did quite a bit of research on this since I was a little worries about od on nicotine.

If I got something wrong feel free to correct me.

Anything can be toxic to a child or animal that is ok for an adult in limited form - aspirin, any medicines in fact, coffee, any kind of stimulant inc alcohol and many other items. It HAS to be marked TOXIC so people without a brain cell dont start putting it on the cat's dinner and then say 'oh but how was I to know..' It also covers the supplier and manufacturer in case of an accident; they warned you, you ignored it kind of deal.
Most chemicals can be toxic in large amounts, nicotine is no different even though it is a naturally occurring one - so is belladonna and that stuff will lay you out :) Keep it under lock n key or so high up even a goat would have an issue reaching it.
Take the proper precautions if you handle the raw stuff and you should be fine; chemists handle it all the time without ill effect, as they take it seriously. As for vaping it, its safe enough in the tiny doses used in eliquids - I believe cigs contain a lot.
Just use your normal caution if you're DIYing with high strength.
Btw, Ive spilled the ready made stuff on me more times than I can count, got it in my mouth, licked the end of my PV (yeah..well..it tasted nice..lol), got it in my eye once by accident (that wasn't pleasant at all thank god for eye drops and irrigation), and Im still here typing using both eyes and all my fingers.

did those cigs we stopped smoking say LISTEN YOUR GONNA GET CANCER AND DIE? didnt you do it anyway with no precautions?

just had to point it out there. Main point. dont leave it around, dont drink it, dont use is as a lotion. You'll be fine with 25mg no probs. o wash your hand and area
