How upset/concerned should I be?

I'm a noob myself, I got the ego-C with the 650mAh batteries, and I'm happy with it. From what I've read I might want more later, but not now. I got it from Joyetech Joye eGo-C Starter Kit | Joyetech eGo-C E Cigarette, fast shipping and the kit has two complete units. I found other sites had it listed for less, but were out of stock at the time. I used a coupon code ATJ8 for 10% off.

I'd return it as well.

100 bucks is outrageous. I would return it just for that. As for talking you down to the fixed voltage unit, I'm pretty sure he's counting on his customers coming back within the month for the VV. And if it's a knockoff too... that's just shameful. I wouldn't deal with these guys unless it's an emergency.

The price is fairly expensive to be honest. You can get a Joye Twist kit with clearo for around $70 plus shipping. A kit similiar to your kit for around $50 or so.

B&M are almost always more. They have more overhead and don't do the volume of business that some of the bigger suppliers do. Some people like to support or local business or like the hands on approach.

I would definitely call and ask them what type of warranty they offer. Many online suppliers offer 2-3 months on the battery.

Aside from the price, how do you like it? Have you tried it yet?

Insist on genuine joyetech, and get what you wanted.

Did you pay with a credit card?
If he refuses to refund you, challenge the credit card charge.

I am pretty sure it is a knock off as I don't believe the genuine eGos come in 900 mah. Not sure what you should expect but I would be wary of dealing with that vendor again.

Cignot is local to me, is listed as a legit distro of Joye stuff, and all of their batteries have "Cignot" or the Cignot logo printed on them with no mention of Joye anywhere on the battery

So it's entirely possible Baums got legit stuff, just got overcharged for it

For that price, they should be C2 or T2 upgrades, as well.

I was told knockoffs are very unpredictable plus joye should have a 3 month warranty on that kind of stuff. Sme people never go with variable volts but usually they do. If the vv is a variable volt and a true joye tek ( they use serial numbers now due to the problems with knock offs) you'd be better off getting what you asked for in the first place. they are as easy as pie But always treat these devices gently. They are after all disposables with a longer life than others. Good luck. Vv was the right instinct. Sorry you got confused with his effort to help. Kinda weird but maybe he thought he was doing the right thing and wanted customer satisfaction. Dunno

My mistake. Thanks for correcting me. The fact that it is missing the logo is dead giveaway, however.

Take it back if you are concerned. Give the vendor a shot to fix your issue. I know that is what I would do.

Oh I'll certainly give him a shot. I'm not unreasonable. Just wanted the knowledge of the masses to point me in the right direction. And that's what I'm getting which is appreciated.
