Well very first e cig was over 3 yrs ago got a one time use e cig didn't work for me then like a year and a half ago I got a cheap e go starter kit and a zero nic juice to try using in between cigs to cut down didn't work then about 5-6 months ago my best friend quit using red bull flavor juice so I decided to try again got a e go twist two throw away atomizers and a bottle of juice that tasted like my brand of smokes and a bottle of red bull flavor (both 24mg) puffed the one that tasted like my smokes then took a puff of my smoke back to back and was like it tastes like my smokes and hits my throat the same I can do this.
Then came home got yelled at for spending $50 on the battery and juice since it wasn't gonna work like last time lol
But it did work and I haven't bought ciggs in over 5 months. Proved her wrong lmao!

Hello, all. New member, first post.

I quit smoking ~4 years ago after the company I worked for went under. I was tight on cash, tired of spending the money on (and feeling sick from) analogs, so a friend guided me to an eGo-T starter kit. It worked wonders and within a month I was done smoking. I was strictly a vaper in that I didn't want to smoke, but now it's become a hobby of mine.

several friends were vaping.. I wasn't interested. but in june.. I rode a elevator with a co worker that smokes.. and realized how nasty he stank of stale smoke..

and it just hit me. on the way home, I saw a cheap o B&M near the house. asked the wife if she was interested too, she was.. went that night a grabbed a 50 started kit didnt commit to quiting smoking, just wanted to try this ecig thing. within a few days, a friend suggested a better shop for better gear, upgraded the tank to a evod.. then.. well..regular purchases began =) 8 weeks today! Smoke free!

I smoked a PAD for 30 years. After being hospitalized and very nearly dying from massive blood clots collecting in my lungs, my doctors told me I really needed to quit smoking. I had tried a Blu a few years before, but it was terrible and only lasted a week. After getting out of the hospital I tried to quit using the patch, but it was miserable. Three years later and desperate to quit, I did an online search for e-cigs, hoping there were newer, better options than the failed Blu, and to my surprise there were many. I found ECF and lurked for a few weeks, watched some videos on youtube and one day I went to the local vape shop and said 'set me up'. That was in December of 2013, and I haven't smoked since.

Tried them in 2011 - automatic cigalikes with separate atomizer and cartridge. Batteries were very expensive, and died all the time (just a drop of liquid through the atomizer and it was dead).

Fast-forward to last October - On a business trip, had a pow-wow in the salesman's hotel room to prep. Didn't hear a word he said, as I was fascinated with (what I now know is) the VV V3 and tank sitting on the desk. Asked him if I could try it. After a funny look, he filled a dripper for me.

That was it; the start of a new obsession, the end of a bank balance as we know it.

Went in to have my Computer fixed. The gentleman that fixed the computers also sold Ecigs and mixed juices. We talked about the advantages, went home and started researching. On Jan. 10 I was back in the shop and bought my first EVO. Never smoked another cigarette after 50 year 2 pack a day habit.

Some great and heartening stories in this thread. I feel ashamed that I wasn't strong enough to quit the ciggies from the get-go, but the truth is I was puffing on a lookalike and then lighting up for a real smoke. Then came ego batteries and CE4 clearo's and I was in the fight with a chance. Most of what is offered to the public as ecigarettes is utter rubbish, and sadly we all seem to fall for it at the start.

Was looking for a way out of sponsoring the government and actually looking for cheaper cigarettes online.
Bumped into an ecig site and started reading up on vaping.
Bought my first ego starter kit , was happy for 2 weeks until one of the batteries decided my couch was in need of a hole and caught fire.
Switched back to cigarettes and a few disposables whilst waiting for my Vamo to arrive.
Ever since than vaping, did not touch any cigs for approx 2 yrs now.

I was walking through a Mall and saw the Smoke51 kiosk. I had heard about e-cigs and talked to the guy. I bought their very expensive kit and was back in 5 days to buy more carts. And more carts, and more carts....I had to find a cheaper way, so looked on line and bought the Ego-C. Decided to quit New Years Eve two years ago. I have had only 3 cigs in that time. Awful taste and smell. Finally, upgraded to a protank six months ago. Now, I have a SQuape R, but still use my 900mah ego battery. I am waiting for 2 I taste VV3's. And, an IPV. No cigs for me ever again!

Walked in a ecig shop they asked me what I want? I said something with a glass tube and metal, nothing plastic. Annnnnnd I got my first Kanger Protank, got some juice that was way to high nic she gave me, but I filled it, hit it, the pack of cigs in my passenger chair was never used again. I was already motivated to start and interested when I came in.

I thought in the end run, A its better, B save money. Well save money wise, I got deep fast, found RIP Trippers he was just on protanks at that time. With in like a month or so, I was rebuilding my protank heads. Now doing sub-ohm less than a year on RDA's. And now, can't stop building, and want to buy more. Became a obsession now, got a Kayfun, than a SID, 26-29g Kanthal, Ohm meter in a only few months in vaping, then recently RDA and Mech mod. Watched a million youtube videos on builds and now can't stop. So far its now a super hobby.

I'm an off and on smoker. I like smoking (only thing that truly helps me relax). However never loved the side effects (always stink like an ashtray, lung cheese, etc). Several years ago tried green smoke. That was a waste of money. So continued my smoking for a few months and quitting for a few months. Met my wife while on a not smoking period. Started smoking again. And man did that piss her off. So I started researching ecigs again and discovered the world of vaping. I got a cheap set up to give it a shot again. What a world of difference from then and now. Haven't touched a cigarette since. And the biggest bonus is I don't have a budget. The wife is so happy I don't smell or taste like an ashtray, she doesn't care what I spend.

After ~45 years of smoking I had given up even trying to quit after multiple attempts. Then I developed health issues that made it almost impossible to hold onto a cigarette. Dropping lit cigarettes is very much an immediate health problem.

I had heard kind of generally about electronic cigarettes and started researching them online. Luckily ECF came up in a lot of my searches, so I found this forum before I had spent any money and got excellent recommendations about what to start with. I ended up having to go high nicotine but was able to completely switch within a couple of weeks.

Ironically, we did lose our house to a chimney fire a couple of months later, but even with the stress of living in a motel for weeks and finding and refurnishing a different house I made it through without cigarettes.

I started buying the gas station NJOYS and they really weren't bad but only lasted one day and I would have to spend another $8 to buy another. I was looking for a better product, not knowing how much was really out there and thru internet surfing bought my first starter kit. After using it once, I was done smoking, and its been about 10 months now. I was a smoker for 30 years and actually never really tried to quit before this. I thought I would be a smoker until it killed me! Thankfully I found vaping!

My wife had recently quit and started using the blue and was pressuring me to do the same after 25 years. I gave the blues a try and said no way. Fast forward a month and my wife was tired of the blues and stopped using them for about two weeks when she had a long drive coming up and wanted something to take the edge off while driving through NY and the like. She went to a local vape store and picked up an ego kit....

At the time she came home from her trip I had been sick and had a sore throat for about a week and hadn't smoked during that time. I figured I was probably already over most of the chemical dependency and that it was time for me to kick the pack and a half a day for 25 years habit myself. I tried cold turkey at first and that lasted about 36 hrs before I to found myself in a vape shop getting the ego kit. I have now been analog free for about 3 weeks and starting to really feel the benefits.

Hopefully me and vaping will become life long friends and the rest will be history....

I have a few deal-a-day websites I check every night before bed, and one of them back in June had a deal on Fin e-cigs (like Blu...automatic, look like cigarettes, with a nice charging case and cartridges), so I thought, what the heck, I'll give it a try. I had wanted to quit for years and years, and didn't have much luck. Chantix made me want to kill myself (but no cravings! LOL I stopped smoking for about 7 months with that), and had the patch in the hospital once when I was there for a few weeks, but started smoking again after that. This year, I've been really poor, and got myself down to about 9 cigs a day.

The Fin e-cigs didn't taste that great (I like menthol, and it just wasn't strong enough), but I used those and smoked real cigs. Got down to about 5 or 6 real cigs a day. Then I did some web-surfing and found a dealer online and bought some peppermint juice, syringes, empty cartos, and filled my Fin's with that, and the taste was so much better. In July, I was getting tired of constantly filling and charging teeny batteries, but I did totally quit smoking (which was awesome!), and I picked up an iTaste 134 mini, cuz I loved the look, and the day that came in, I found that there was a vape store right in my own tiny town, so I went there and got an eGo starter kit for more portable use (the 134 mini is very heavy!) and a Kanger AeroTank. So I had toys that I loved, which was great too!

Well, now it's August, and I've spent many hundreds of dollars on stuff, and I have to really be careful from now on! But it's been a lot of fun, and I'm glad I found this forum. I made my first classifieds purchase, and that was great. Now I have cool toys, lots of tanks, lots of flavors, 2 wooden stands, and a very high credit card bill. LOL But I have been smoke-free for a month and a half. :vapor: I think the scariest part about trying to quit smoking was being afraid of depression setting in, since I suffer from that already, but vaping keeps me so happy and I don't miss smoking at ALL!!!

2 years ago I tried those awful V Cigs with the replaceable carto's and half of them leaked and the other half were burnt and tasted terrible. Went back to the smokes until a vape shop opened in town and I thought I'd check it out. What a revelation on the changes that have taken place. Now I'm doing DIY juice and building coils for my Pro Tanks and Evods just in case the government decides to severely regulate my new lifestyle. Got 2 MVP's and also have my eye on a VTR.

My ex bought a protank starter kit from a local smoke shop. it got me interested in e cigs to begin with and eventually I bought my own protank. the battery was .... though. very touchy on when it decided to actually work. since then I bought a ....ty rebuildable and started to do builds. I quickly learned that that ....ty battery would not hold up to the pressure (it shorted out) So now I have bought a few mods and a few rebuildables and became vaping hobyist. I didn't really smoke to begin with, but I really like vaping, Haven't been able to go back to a protank since.
