How You started vaping?

Went to a tobacco shop to buy my usual 2 cartons of cig to last me just shy of two weeks. I saw that they sell ecigs now and I had noticed somebody at work had quit using ecig, soooooooo, I bought only one carton of cig and an ego starter kit and some eliquid. For the next couple weeks I smoked very little. Ended up with 8 pks left in that carton, I sold them to another guy at work. That was nearly one year ago I'm proud to say !!

I had seen more and more people vaping at work so finally one day decided to try it out. One of my co-workers had a brand new Evic for sale. Bought it from him and the rest was history. It's been about 6 months from when I started vaping. Evic was a cool starter mod to work with but I recently ordered a Vapor Shark Rdna 30 and my first RTA. Feel it's time to switch it up a little.

it all started 38 years ago when I thought I would look uber cool smoking cigarettes ... fast forward to last summer

I saw a couple walking through the mall, and the guy's wife was pulling his oxygen tank.

I started thinking ... holy cow, I don't even have a wife to help me drag around an oxygen tank

So, I picked up a Blu kit, and quickly realized I could probably quit smoking with vaping

Then I bought this stuff so I would never go back to cigarettes.

I had smoked for about 45 years, trying to quit a number of times. I once quit for a year, but started again. I had tried gum, patches, hypnosis but due to side effects, decided against the pills.

I had a vague interest in e-cigs (I truly hate that name for vaping now) and was driving past a B&M that had opened in my neighborhood. I had some time so I decided to stop in. Fortunately the shop was operated by an individual and his employee who really took the time to answer questions, give suggestions and let me try some equipment and juices. I left that shop with a typical starter kit and have never looked back!

Two years ago, after 40+ years of chain smoking, I got one of those pop-up ads for an ecig (I can't even remember the brand). I had been actively trying to cut back or quit with lozenges and such, so I was receptive. I started googling and researching and ended up here on this forum. A few days later I ordered my first starter kit from Smokeless Image and, within a week, I was smoke free. So, I guess, in reality, vaping found me...

40 years smoking..1 lung surgery,mother and sister lost to lung cancer, still couldn't stop. finally realized i felt so bad i had to stop. 2 ladies at work showed me their e-gos and told me they bet it would work for me. i bought a starter kit and never looked back. last Sunday was my 1 year anniversary not smoking and man do i feel better.

Quit smoking started vaping 3 weeks ago after 16 years smoking. I am enjoying it a lot an my body is recovering not to mention I have a new son.

Coworker had been doing it for some time. I finally asked him about this ecig thing.
He used to be a heavy smoker but pretty much had to quit because of xray results on his lungs. He quit smoking and tried vaping that day as the doctor suspected early stages of cancer. He later found out it was only scar tissue damage but continued to vape as hed quit smoking for good. Then he said a year later when he went back on for his checkup the new xrays showed his lungs were clearing up and the tissue damage from before was gone completely.

That weekend I started vaping.

Bought a cigalike just out of curiosity. Have not smoked since.
At one time, I had five cigalikes charging at the same time.
Oh-- such fools we are when we start vaping before finding ECF!
But worse fools we can be if we don't even try.

I've been smoking Hookah a lot and wanted to switch to something that doesn't have the mess with coal and burnt spots on the carpet.
got my first vape with a box mod. I've been smoking Liquid E-Juice and love the flavours. Funnel Cake, Zen (strawberry) and Monchito (pineapple & Coconut) are my favourite.
Its making it very easy to give up the hookah!!

I believe it was a YouTube video where I saw ecigs for the fist time. Then I bought a set but didn't quit until I picked it up again about 9 months later. A week after restarting the ecig back in January and I quit cigarettes altogether and have been smoke free now for 7 1/2 months now

An acquaintance suggested I look at Totally Wicked which of course is a newbie site. I vaped and smoked for a few months until I got a ego and a CE3. I quit smoking using the patch and gum and about a month later I started vaping happily. Now I've graduated to mechs and drippers. I'm stocking up on them until this whole FDA thing plays out. I'm not convinced it's the end of vaping but I'm sure it won't be the care free world we live in now.

using a friends vape got me into it. I wasn't a huge smoker but would smoke on occasion. Haven't touched a cigarette since i bought a vape

When my 2nd child was born I thought to my self:

"Self, now you are ***ked, where are you going to come up with $250 a month for diapers and formula?"

Oddly enough that's how much I was spending on smoking. It came down to the simple economics of either switch to vapeing and buy diapers or the other alternative, which was pretty s***ty.

My wife suggested we try them in 2011 so we tried Blu twice, once again in 2012, and they didn't cut it. A friend of ours started using an ego early 2013 and told us about it. Haven't touched a cigarette since we got our first kits in!

End of may right after payday BF and I were at the bar. I had just bought a pack of smokes a few hrs earlier and after having a few beers I had 10 left. Then I looked at the receipt they were $7 for my favorite brand. I was ...... there was a guy at work who vaped I asked him all the time about it. So I told the bf lets check out this shop he recommends. We went they had juices I could try before I buy I was hooked got my set up feeling bottles of juice went home. At this point I had about 6 cigs left figured I go back n forth. (Yes I smoked 3 on the way there) I smoked alot. I used THE e cig all night happily. I woke up the next morning reached for it off the nightstand and was fumbling half asleep. Bf comes running in lol he stole it ha ha. He couldn't smoke a cigarette. Couldn't wait till they opened to get his own. Now almost 4 months later we have upgraded the devices. (I have thr MVP and PT2 he's got the VV with a smoketech) both tanks support the same coil that hey I learned to rebuild. I never imagined to feel this way and breathe again and smell and taste. Then to not be a ..... cause I wasn't smoking. I smoked for almost 20yrs and to walk away like that was amazing. I am now a hardcore vapor I love my setup! Even got his DAD to quit and get one two we are doing good. ;-)

Wife brought home a Blu kit. Messed around with that for a bit and decided I was going to make the switch. Got on the intertubes and found ecf. Did some reading and ordered a provari mini. Eleven months ago today it arrived, and I haven't taken a drag since.

An employee of mine mentioned that her neighbor had quit smoking using a e-cig and "juice" and that he was a heavy smoker. We found a local B&M and after an hour of sampling juices bought evod starter sets an assortment of juices to try. Within a week neither one of us could stand cigarettes and have been vaping since then. The other smokers in the office have also starting vaping and now I have a smoke free office staff. We have all switched to spinner 2's and Pro tanks now and one person is doing DIY mixing of our juices now.
