How You started vaping?

As a pack and a half a day cigarette smoker, making a 5 day cross country trip from southern florida to north western washington state, travelling in a van full of non-smokers. I had never really thought about trying e-cigs before that, but decided that I was going to need them for that week. Having very little knowledge of where to buy them and how they work, I found myself keeping at least 2 blu disposables on me at all times, just to keep my sanity and to make sure that I made it until the next stop for gas. Haha :vapor:

Tried a blu ecig about 2 years ago. Didn't do anything for me. I didn't know about tanks and batteries or anything. I thought the blu was the only option. About six months ago some co workers were vaping and asked if I had tried it. I said the blu . That's when I learned different levels of nic and flavors, tanks, etc. I finally broke down and bought an evod. I haven't touched a cig since. Converted my wife the same day. Been two months. Wish I would of had the info sooner. Better late then never.

My mom bought me a cheap kit she saw online for my 50th birthday. Yes, it was one of those scams where they send you cartridges every month! I knew about e-cigs from seeing them in the store but didn't think too much about it because I just didn't think it would work for me and the cost of the disposables isn't that much different. But after giving my birthday present a try I realized this might just work with a better set up. I started "googling" and found out about all the options I had out there.

Well, it has been a month now without cigs and I've almost got my set up dialed in now. I've got a few favorite flavors and a few tanks. My batteries are just 650 mah eGO-T and I can see that I'm going to want something better down the road but I'll wait until I need new ones. I've learned much by just lurking around here and reading a lot of posts. I just decided to join the forum last night.

Had several health issues over the past few years, about 6 six years ago after I was regularly short of breath and when my legs and feet swelled up overnight a visit to casualty confirmed that I had Congestive Heart Failure... didn't stop me chain smoking. Last year I had several pre-cancerous polyps removed from my colon which because of their nature and size meant I was scheduled for a repeat examination this year, which resulted in several new abnormal polyps being removed. So I have eventually decided to give up cigarettes. Been cig free for 5 weeks and really enjoying vaping, and tinkering with coils and wicks.

Long time listener, first time caller.

I was a pack and some a day smoker and really tired of driving out to the res and stocking up on terrible tasting smokes. I did a ton of research and ended up buying a smoov kit and some 15mg vanilla juice. I was nervous about using it on break at work so still smoked during the day. Faced with another trip to the res, I put my nervousness behind me and went all in. It wasn't bad but it wasn't great. After a week or so I went to the B&M and walked out with an ego starter kit. 2 batteries and two of the evod 2's and a spare box of 2 ohm coils. That was much better. In June of 2014 I celebrated a year off analogs and bought myself an iTaste mvp2 and some protank 3's. Even better than the egos.

Since then, I've gotten my first mech and rba, a copper penny and a magma (which I adore). Still using the mvp2 as my edc because dripping is a pita, especially at work. To alleviate that I ordered my first REOs, alas it didn't make it before the holiday weekend but I am so looking forward to it!

I believe vaping has saved me thousands in asthma meds and improved my quality of life. No wheezing is a no brainer. I've dropped nic steadily and only vape 3 mg during the first half of the day and do 0 the rest. I love this hobby.

Sorry for the wall of text.

One of my friends started over a year ago. Didn't really give it too much mind. Another one of my friends got an ego from his uncle. I asked him if it helped, and he was like yeah, I don't smoke as many anymore because I don't need to.

One day I'm at his house for a BBQ and the thing is sitting on the table. I take a puff, and the throat hit was just killer and it tasted pretty good. I said if I had something like this I could probably quit smoking. Did some quick google searching and found this forum and read a thread about what to get for a starter kit. Got the kit on a Friday, then messed around with it for a little bit, but kept smoking for the weekend.

The following Monday I said I'll try to just use the e-cig as much as I can and cut down to maybe a few cigarettes a day. I just vaped my head off the entire day and didn't need a real one. That was about 3 months ago, and I still haven't had an analog yet, though I've been tempted plenty of times.

A young person, over 18, who lived with his parents and didn't want them knowing he was vaping or smoking asked me to order an ecig for him from volcano. I looked at the website and thought it looked cool so ordered one for me too. I vaped for about 6 months and quit cigs. Then I started a new job and the stress was too much after a couple months, went back to cigs. 2 years later I'm walking down the street and see a so cute little girl vaping on a sick looking copper mod with her girl friend on a cig. SHOULD HAVE SAID HI! Sheesh. At least it positively inforced the vape in my mind again and I've been feeling guilty stinking up the place with my cigs. So I ordered up a lava tube cause that's what I had before. It's kept my off the cigs for one week this Sunday. Got a magma rda some wire and cotton coming in the mail, can't wait to try it out.

few years back, seen the OLD cigalikes with the single use ATTY and removable cartridges at a gas station, used them for a few weeks.

from there i googled to see if it was refillable - refilled them with just VG and water, for about 6 months. then around july last year, i saw that they made BIGGER batteries---egos---. bought a halo triton kit, and was satisfied till the coils got expensive. did more research and realized how much money id save if i bought a MVP2 for battery life, and got BCC for cheap tank/coils. -

I tried it 5 or 6 years ago when it was just carts with the fish filter .... and like one store in the mall. You had to order online or pay the outrageous prices of the one mall vendor. I gave it up until a few weeks ago we had our monthly meeting at work and was told that due to the "affordable care act" our insurance was changing and smokers would be charged extra every month. It was going to be an extra $75 a month so I said screw that and researched vaping again. It has changed so much from when I tried it years ago. I purchased a nautilus mini and smoked my last cig three days ago and the mini has been great. I am also getting into doing my own coils. This is really almost becoming a hobby now.

It didn't really catch on for me until friends I used to smoke cigs with started vaping. The first time I saw someone vaping an e-cig, they ended up bumming a smoke off me after being dissatisfied with their e-cig. So I was intrigued, but turned off from trying it. It took me a couple of weeks to completely quit smoking after I started vaping but have now been smoke free for about 6 months.
