I'm looking into buying a volt or Halo G6 kit for my wife. This forum seems to be the place to ask for advice since I just started doing research and need more guidance. My question is if I buy the Volt kit can I use Halo cartos with the Volt battery since they are both 808? My only concern is that Halo cartos are made in the US. I want to stay away from chinese manifuctures. TIA

Welcome Nattefrost, you will find that most all kr808 equip will work on any kr808 set up. As far as chinese liquid is concerned, there are some that are very good out there. It is just a matter of researching and finding the ones that are. I wouldn't necessarily say stay away from these. I have found plenty of USA juices that are what I would call horrific and wonder where did they get the formula for that, and what were they thinking??? It's all hit or miss, but when you find that one, (and you will know it when it happens), you'll be in vaping bliss....

KR-808 is a standard and you can use any atomizer that doesn't overcome the battery's ability to deliver needed current. If you use low resistance atomizers you will just shorten the useful life of a charge. The longer 78mm Volt 320mah battery should let you use low resistance cartos and get decent charge life (3 hours or so).

Since the PV (personal vaporizer/e-cig) was invented in China, I really don't get your concern. Plus, all atomizers and cartomizers are made in China. And there are some very good eliquids made in China, it's just a matter of what tastes better to you. Some American made eliquids are made in garages, basements and kitchen sinks. That does not make them bad but it sure doesn't make them safer than eliquid made in another country.

I'd recommend the Volt, but I'd just get some blank cartridges and fill them with whatever USA liquid you're interested in. They perform really, really well. As a long time vaper who has all kinds of vaping toys, they managed to impress me.

In fact, my son's new roommate said he was interested in vaping so I took him some of my unused supplies. I let him try my ego set up with a Stardust carto and vv booster, a 3.7 mod that I had with Boge 2.0cartos, and my Volt. He got the most solid hit off of the Volt and said that's the kind he wanted.

I figured we will have better quality control/regulation in regards to e-liquids made here vs. china.

Actually I've seen video footage of some of the facilities in China and they are pristine. Even the water pipes sparkle. Everyone in coats, hair covers, foot covers and gloves. I think you'd be surprised.

Well I got my starter kit with their prefilled cartos. I wasn't blown away by the taste, but after I refilled them with other liquid, they are awesome. They have a different design than most other 808 cartomizers. Traditionally the 808s have a vertical coil that runs up the center of the carto. These have a horizontal coil on the bottom and I've yet to see their performance matched by another slim ecig model.

I would recommend getting the blanks for the Volt and filling them yourself if you are iffy about using their liquids.

Then you really don't understand how a large portion of US eliquid is made. You really think that making eliquid out of someones house, kitchen, garage, etc makes it safer? I'm not saying it is unsafe but you are making assumptions with no knowledge at all.

Welcome! I have read lots of positive reviews on the Volt. I don't have one myself, but if you scroll down to the bottom of the forums, smokelessimage is one of the forum suppliers and they sell the Volt. You can read what others have said.

Thanks for pointing that out, I completely missed that section. Glad I found this site, even tho I dont smoke I'm curious to see how this turns out. I have a 1 yr old baby and dont want 2nd hand smoke anywhere near her. Hopefully the wife will convert to e-cigs. 1st impression is important so I dont want to mess it up. :)

I had my mind set on Johnson Creek e-liquids and from what I read they are regulated by the FDA

I love my G6 (I've got 2 manual batteries as well as an automatic. I myself debated with the Volt, as far as I'm concerned they are very similar. Either one you choose, I'm sure your wife will be happy. Good luck

TY for the reply....Is the center piece on the G6 automatic more open compared to the closed design on the volt automatic? I'd like to have a lighter/easier draw... also any difference in the performance between the auto and manual G6 with regards to vape production?
