Without naming supplier names, I want to know if anyone else is still experiencing shipping from hell with Black Friday & Cyber Monday e-ciggy purchases.

Me? My package that was (supposedly) dropped off at USPS on 11/29 showed up in the system at 10:00 pm on 12/03 - as FINALLY being at it's point of origin. Really? Five days for the first scan indicating USPS finally received it at the first sorting facility? My best reckoning is that it's moved less than half a mile so far. At this rate I don't expect to see delivery before 12/08 - maybe.

Is there a point to folks filing bad supplier reviews for these circumstances? Considering we will probably never know the source of the problem.

Regardless, will you order from the vendor again? In my case that would be a "no".

The suppliers that had a sale will be a little slower getting stuff shipped out. I went through this last year so don't get ruffled over it. If it's been shipped, the USPS will make sure that they take their sweet time in getting it to you. I'm still waiting on a couple of packages myself but it was to be expected.

I know. The part that twists my knickers is knowing friends got their packages from the same supplier in 3 days. When I asked the supplier on day 3, because it still didn't even show in USPS tracking, all I got was "I mailed it on the 29th!"

On day five I sent a follow up e-mail, pointing out (nicely) that tracking still shows USPS doesn't even have a package. (No reply.) Then it magically appears in tracking only being scanned at the point of origin on day 5 - nine hours after the 2nd e-mail.

So I don't know if I trust that the supplier actually got it to USPS on the 29th as they said they did. Not happened with anything else, especially not even showing as received by USPS tracking for 5 days. I know USPS tracking is crappy, but I've never not had at least acknowledgment that they had the package to begin, especially not until 5 days after it was supposedly given to them.

USPS has been a mixed bag lately.

Some of the USPS delay is them waiting until their trucks are filled before having them go out. In my area, they've been 'crossing the streams' of info. I had a package that showed that they attempted delivery and left a note, meanwhile it was still on the truck. The explanation of that was that a supervisor plopped a ton of packages together and some got mixed up.

Having worked in shipping at a warehouse before, it's possible it was received and maybe their system was clogged or went down and didn't push the data to update in a timely manner. With the way they function it wouldn't surprise me if their structure was a bit archaic on the tech side.

For me, packages from the NE have taken a little longer than normal. Meanwhile packages from the west are flying here a day earlier than typical.

If I was in a situation like that, I'd give the vendor another try, but not during the holidays or anytime around the Chinese new year when people stock up in preparation for a potential month of hardware delays. Just me though.

I think I would buy more from a vendor if they did UPS. In most cases with priority packages they are cheaper and faster. And of course the mailman has tons of letters and OPM (other peoples mail) this guy shows up looking like a boss in a big truck with matching brown uniform with a package just for you!

And the order arrives 12/05!

Incomplete and with wrong items...

Since the supplier hasn't responded to any e-mails since 12/01, and the web site is closed for business - now through 12/09 - this has gone to credit card dispute. And that was at the suggestion of my credit card company for the circumstances presented. Doesn't seem to be any other way to prod a response. Maybe the original tracking delay wasn't the vendors fault - I won't ever know. But there were other issues before the order even left the door. It's turning into a "customer service from hell" experience.

I won't put up a review or name names until I know how this ends. But my gut - the same gut that told me this order was going to be a problem even before it got a tracking number - now tells me the supplier probably won't even respond to the credit card dispute.

Will update when this saga is finally over.

I know I still have the tracking number, wondering how often the post office clears that stuff out. Might want to compare notes of "the chain of custody" to see if they went through the same places or not and at what times.

I agree, Having been a book dealer for many years, and using USPS very regularly since 1998, I can tell you that it's not always the venders fault. Often USPS does not scan items until the item reaches a larger sorting facility, and sometimes only when it has been delivered to the customer. Occasionally, I've sent packages that have never been scanned into the system, sometimes even the ones I pay extra for with signature confirmation.

I've typically found that UPS is considerably more expensive that USPS on most packages.

I know which vendor you are talking about. i made an order 11-26 and have still not received it to date. I have tried emailing him many times, nicely, and each time was told he was "checking into it" only to never get back to me. at this point completely blowing my emails off, net even responding. i never got a confirmation or tracking number from him. only got an email saying my card was charged by his e-processing website. did you ever get this handled? i am trying to get a refund from him but looks like i am out $50. i will be calling my credit card company as well.
