Oh my dears, I do feel for you all !
Here in Hobart I've had another glorious late-winter day. Sunny, cool but not cold, light breezes. We had rain & showers last week, but it is simply gorgeous again today. Yeah I know, rubbing it in

I like to believe I live in Paradise - well I would, but there's a town in Tassie that already has that name.

Ahh Katz ,there is a Paradise cali ..but its not paradise Our nearest cities have been running 80's and 90's and we've been low to high 70's all week

I wish I were going Gator!! I won't be able to make it though. Actually this is my first attempt at pickling anything, so it is really just a trial run. I'll be sure to let you know how it works out!

Oh, and it's hot and sunny today. I'm glad I don't have to go outdoors much!

A fairly nice day here. Fall is just around the corner. DiscMan had to trim the morning glories at the front gate. The "secret garden" effect had become the "secret jungle". When you came through the gate there was only about a 4 1/2 ft. clearance under the vines. The cucumbers in the front planter are now growing onto the porch. One has wrapped around the chair legs. When it all dies out we leave the dead vines up for a spooky halloween effect. I sure hope we aren't mowing through fall this year. We didn't really have a "winter" last winter. More like a frosty dusted fall.
The Italian Heritage Festival is coming up Labor day weekend. It is really just a large outdoor cocktail party but the music is fun with lots of dancing.

Gator, I can't wait for fall. It's my favorite time of the year. Cool, non-humid, weather with so much color in the leaves and other plants. I love the midwest because we still have seasons. Went to L.A. one year in December and it was just too nice of weather.

I've lived in several states, but I truly miss the UP of Michigan in the fall. It's pretty hard to complete with the beautiful colors. Upstate NY is similar. But I don't miss the bitter cold winds blowing off the great lakes and the icy roads on my to work every morning. LOL

But, I have a feeling I'm going to get a little taste of those days now that I'm at a higher elevation! Yikes! LOL

Hey, That sounds like my winters! We get all the Lake effect stuff! It sucks! Its just around the corner too which I am not ready for yet I am! I have had a miserable time with my allergies this year and nothing has helped. The nights are already colder since Aug hit! School starts soon, not ready for that!

We visited the Porcupine Mountains & the Lake of the Clouds last fall when colors were at their peak, and words can't even begin to describe the beauty!

It's a drier type of climate than the wet snow. I do know that.
