IMO - Don't think "You" are the only one who might have been wondering the how will "they" know who the ECF Member is without "ECF Username" box . . .
However, ECF has "Our" real Email Address and "Name" when we signed up for membership, so while it might be a little extra work for the person to find out who it is that WON - it is probably how they are "authenticating" who the ECF winner is too . . . Just Sayin' . . .
OH WELL . . . I was just hoping to get "My" ECF Username engraved on the "Disrupter" if I was lucky enough to WIN one . . .

Thanks @Uncle. As far as I know, upon winning we contact the winners asking for more info such as: ECF username, real name & shipping address, email address & colour choice. I know first hand that this was done with the previously announced winners.

So I wanted to mention that if a person really wants a custom engraved device they still can get it done on their own.
If you do a google search for engraving you will find places that do it and it's not that expensive.
Here are the prices from one site that I found,
Engraving Setup Fee = $5.00 per item
First line of text up to 30 characters = $5.00
Each additional line of text up to 30 characters = $4.00
Line Graphics = $0.60 per square inch or portion thereof, $4.00 minimum
Photos & Clipart = $0.75 per square inch or portion thereof, $5.00 minimum
Also check out local jewelry shops, gun shops, tool and die makers and any shops that make trophy awards & plaques.

Can't say as I haven't already made out. Still running the first box mod I got back in 2013 namely the MVP 2.0 reliable as ever. I did however go for the MVP 20w since the 2.0 is still only 11w max. Have some other box mods as well as some hefy APVs but that 2.0 always seems to be right there when needed.

Gosh, i hope they don't try to authenticate us through our email address. I had a problem with registering so the email ECF has as my authentification email account is not the one I regularly use on ECF. If they do that, hopefully they will just go by the name we used to register on ECF. I am sure some of these prizes will go to the people who entered using our referral links, though, so in essence it is still through ECF. I just hope I am one of them!
ETA: I see that @Innokin_Ash has cleared up how they verify membership. That takes away my worries about not being recognized should I happen to win one!

@Innokin_Ash The color combinations is one of the things I love about this new device. I'd start off with the gold and purple combo, but then probably add a few of the other color batteries too. That way I could switch it up with my mood.
I really hope they aren't allowing people to enter under multiple email addresses. That's not right. I know most of the contest apps have a way of checking IP addresses and will flag multiple email signups under that IP. I'm not sure about the one being used for this contest though.
