No kids, no wife.... No problem :D

Looks for a small company that will take you. When I turned 21 I owned a company that made air ride seats for trucks. I took a job driving to do some good product testing and make any improvements I could, but could only get on with big companies. Some dispatchers get their rocks off messing with drivers. The driving I loved, but the companies that will hire people under 30 or with little experiance suck. Your military background might open a few doors for you though. A nice, small company where you get to see your dispatcher face to face every now and then makes things a lot better.

Plus the fact that in the service I was driving large fire trucks....some of the crash rescue trucks quite a bit larger then a semi :p, and was hazmat tech certified :)

I did aircraft refueling when I was 18, drove unbaffled tankers and had all kinds of hazmat training. If it's not verifiable cdl driving, it doesn't matter. But, military service often does. The whole under 28 year old thing is the biggest hurdle though. If you get a year or two in and decide you like it, go owner/operator with a company like Landstar. They take care of their drivers.

My mail arrives like clockwork every day between 11:30 and 12:30. And UPS arrives between 4:30 and 6:00. With Amazon Prime, I get so many packages via UPS, the driver knows me by name.
Haha, that sounds a lot like my experience here. I always know if my regular mailman is out because I get my mail between 11 and 12:30 (almost always closer to 11 am) every day he works, and my UPS driver even knows my dogs' names! :)

I was motor transport in the corp drove everything from a minivan to semis and when I got out none of my military certifications mattered in the real world!! At least not to the DMV find a big company like Melton our TMC or Maverick our the likes and most will pay for you to go to school! It's a 3 week class then you do 4 to 6 weeks OTR with a trainer before you get your own truck
