It's always hard to know with those charities. (edited) The Red Cross can't possibly be worse... can it? Although, with the food, man I've donated blood before and I got a cookie, people in the midst of disaster get *stolen* food and green bologna? Oy.

Just got back home and when we got out of the car we realized ours was the only generator we could hear.

Power, cable and internet came back while we were out

It's amazing how we are so dependent on electricity. Storing food and (when you're all electric) cooking food.

My dependency is for coffee comforts. Hubby is the AC needy.

Yep . . . . . . for Electrity & AC . . . Friends place finally got it back last night . . .

Now if only FPL would do the same at the APT Complex where I live for the othet tenants that didn't leave and so I could go back there . . . Just Sayin' . . .

Irma sure did some massive pruning in our area!

Please investigate what happened to that blood you donated
you may find that most if not all those big trucks with big RED CROSS banners on them
aren't actually affiliated with the Red Cross
and even if/when they are the donated blood gets sold to hospitals, not donated

From what I read the RC wants all donations in one location. The churches and others want it stay for their community. Since it was donated by locals for them.

The way our gov (and taxes) should be, close to the people. So as better to respond to…

Just a charcoal grill. Too windy to use it safely. Only electric stove here. We should look into getting a table top propane stove top. Oh hell, we need to invest in a generator!!!

Neither one of our homes suffered damage, we both lost power. Mine came back on today (wed about 11AM)

Aggie still with out power or internet connection. She has a generator. I spoke with her on the phone

I still have problems with intermittin cell & data too . . . So very hard to commumicate at times too. . .

(just moving the list forward) Updated status,, but they may have spotty electric/cell/isp service so dont worry if communications is difficult for them.

Below is our Irma impacted list. If you would like to have your status updated that would be great for others looking out for you. Lets treat it like a report card,,,

A= good shape just a little clean up
B=minor damage/repairs needed
C=more than minor repairs
D= major repairs need
F= total loss, may need help
OK= ok, and you want to leave it at that

Of course you dont have to rate yourself until later.

Its quite possible you wont find your damage/needs until later. I dont want to assign a status to anyone,,so I leave that to you.

If someone needs help they can email of course to see what can be done to assist you. I know that I have some vape related items I can send you if need be.
