Im currently using KR808-1 batteries from Vapor King and love the product and the cartomizers when i am on the go. But at home i use the Pass Thru almost exclusively because its a 5V beast. It gives me the best TH of anything i got and due to that when i switch to batteries im just not getting satisfied anymore.

So:

I want to get a HV Mod PV but have no idea what direction to go.

1. Can my VK cartomizers be used with a HV mod ?

2. I think i need a 5V or higher Mod?

3. Battery life. I can get about 4 hours of continuous vaping from a XL bat. How do the HV mods compare?

4. Im relatively new to vaping so any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you

I would take a look at the Chuck. THAG BUILT: A Wolf in Sheeps Clothing!

Couple of advantages for this unit.

It can be used at 6v or 3.7v This is determined by the type of batts you use, no mechanical switching to break to switch voltages. Some find the HV vaping isn't for them. With the Chuck if you don't like(or are not in the mood for) 6v, you can vape @ 3.7(and have a unit that can last for 2 days on 1 batt)

You can get an adapter for your Chuck so you can use cartomizers.

You design the look of your Chuck, it will be completely unique if you choose.

Jeff is excellent to deal with. Top notch all the way.

I have an Xhaler and a SB. I used cartomizers on these exclusively; you just have to make sure that you keep them moist at all times. I use both these PV’s at HV. I vape continuously and get about 4 hours of vaping. At 3.7 volts supposedly you can get a day or two worth of vaping (I have tried these at 3.7 volts but not continuously to know how long the batteries actually last). I like the Xhaler, but since getting my SB, I rarely use it. The black SB is extremely solid PV that I highly recommend. After purchasing the SB, I will not be buying any other PV for a long time. After my purchase of the Xhaler, I researched (like you) what the “best” HV-PV would be for myself. I narrowed my search to the SB and the GG (I like solid well crafted devices) and decided to go with the SB. I think both of these PV’s are solid choices.

Would go with the Xhaler for a few reasons...

I don't like the carto's at any volts over 5 the dry VERY fast and its easy to get a burnt taste. You can also vape at 3.7 with the Xhaler and it will take the longer lasting protected 17670 batteries and not have to use a dummy battery .. not sure if Chuck uses these sorry, I am sure someone can answer that.
At Nhaler.com you get the adapters, the cartos, HV attiesand HV juice to refill with USA made.. that is specifically made and designed for the HV mods to burn and taste better alll in one place!

It is not a heavy unit ( from what I read, lighter than many)

Very affordable and Drew is great to Deal with as well!

I have no other mods to compare it too but I just received my GLV 5v from greatlakesvapor.com. So far I am amazed when compared to my 901. I also have an adapter to use cartos. I've been vaping on the same two (it uses 2 at a time) batteries since 5:00 last night.

You can't search glv, nothing will come up (something to do with searching oonly 3 letters). Check out the threads on Great Lakes Vapor in the supplier section of the forum.
