Interesting, I would have sworn that the tank that came installed on mine is plastic whereas the spare tank is glass (feels like plastic and when I tap it it sounds like plastic)

At any rate, I don't much care considering how I don't use "plastic eating juices"

Much more importantly, has anyone figured out the functionality of the bottom firing switch? It is a mystery to me. Appears there is some type of cheap spring (Not brass per the "magnet" test") which is press fitted onto the base with the firing pin under the base.

I feel like I am experiencing a significant amount of voltage drop (although I have not measured such with a multimeter (frankly I am not sure how to)). In turn, I would love to be able to mod the bottom switch to that of a more standard design (i.e. your typical brass screw making direct contact with the battery). The "NOBLE" as sold by 310 vapors comes stock with a bottom switch that looks perfect.

If anyone knows how to go about modding the switch please let me know. Also, please let me know if the threading on the "Clone" matches "The Real Thing" because if such is the case I may simply attempt to procure a bottom switch through 310 Vapors.

Thanks!

Rainbow had it listed on their site that the cover doesn't fit over the glass tank.

I talked to David aka Lord Davon and he said he checked and he thinks it is glass and said he is going to update the video or the description or something to correct that. So it does come with a quartz glass tank as well as the plastic tank with the metal cover.

Ohhh. ok. so it gets shipped with both a glass tank and a plastic tank. i didnt realize that.
so now i gues si need a drill because i want to buy this mod! but perhaps they will release a vented version next week lol. with my luck that will be how it goes.

You should try an FC2000 ceramic wick. No more burnt taste. You are most likely getting a short if it taste burnt or the metal taste. You need to oxidize the wick by either torching it lightly before rolling and then again after it is rolled or putting it in the device un-torched and pulsing the coil. Pulsing the coil will oxidize the wick. I liked mesh when I first tried it and then I always got this off taste after using it for a month or so. I switched to ceramics and haven't looked back. They are worth it, so give it a shot. They're not that brittle, just make sure you do a hot wrap with a torch. This will keep it from having micro gaps between the coil and the wick so you won't get any hot spots.

you see, thats just the thing. my gennies taste phenominal on my vv/vw devices. but as soon as i try them on a fully charged mech, its burn city. the taste is horrible. i dont get it. but i do like your FC2000 idea, ive been meaning to get into them but theyre always out of stock it seems. im hoping the wicking might be better becuase i think thats my issue. my gennies perform very well in the 9-10W range, but any higher tastes disgusting. however i do use #500 mesh. do you think the FC2000 would be better wicking and would solve that problem?

What gauge wire are you using? You really need to be running 28ga or 30ga on a mechanical. That will make a huge difference. There is a thread here http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/modding-forum/346216-watts-do-not-matter-its-all-about-wire-temp-read.html that explains this.

The FC2000 are in-stock at Discount Vapers now. The FC2000 still takes the genny tilt to keep up, but otherwise they work good and like I said the flavor is the main thing I like about them.

For anyone who pre-ordered the silver HE from Vaportek they posted this to their facebook page.

Received a date of August 5th for final production of Hybrid Elite for Round 1 of pre orders! Round 2 will be orderd Monday.Received a date of August 5th for final production of Hybrid Elite for Round 1 of pre orders! Round 2 will be orderd Monday.

And they also ordered 500 pieces so that is why it is going to take so long lol.

We ordered over 500 pieces and production takes time.

Just curious, does anyone know of a way to use the Hybrid Elite atty on a mod using a 510 connection?

Maybe somebody somewhere made some type universal adaptor? I realize the chances are virtually nil, given the newness of the ELITE, that an adaptor exist specifically for the ELITE.....but like I said - maybe some sort of universal adaptor?

I got an Elite.. set it up .. still have to drill the vent holes.. but I tested the voltage drop.

I set up a 1.3ohm wire cable wrapped with 400 mesh and 30 gauge coil.. using an AW fully charged 4.2 volts I got a .60 volt drop under load..

Then I modified the switch by adding a piece of solder wick into the spring..

Using a fresh AW with the same 1.3ohm setup I got a .20 volt drop.. simple fast fix.. very happy with this..

Here is a pict of what I did..

Somebody please help. I cant get my hybrid to produce vapor good enough. I've got a 4/5 wrap of 28ga around a triple piece of 2mm silica. Im using a fully charged18650 in it. The vapor production is next to nothing. I've got the same set up in my gensis, on an ea mod and with the same battery, its producing twice as much vapor. Help?

i`m not a pro at this. i just started myself but from what i learned by trial and error is the more wraps the higher the ohm. i suggest trying less wraps. hope that helps. I also made a tool from the inner part of a pen where the ink sits, i cut a notch in the end to hold the wire then spin the pen to coil it. its fool proof.

It sounds like a power problem. I know you said you're using a fully charged battery but how good is the battery connection?

ETS: If you're using a flat-top batt try a button top. If you have a vape safe/2 penny safe, you could try that. The little bit of length it adds may make a better connection. The connection inside your battery tube up under the tank end may be adjustable so that you can extend to help the battery fit better. Just my thoughts ....... ;)

Got mine in a Co Op, and for 45 bucks, it is stupid to complain. All aluminum construction, lightweight and the replacement tank is glass. As a first time hybrid user, I have nothing to compare it to. I widened the air hole using a thin screwdriver, and I wrapped some kanthal around a pre oxidized mesh wick. I used too many wraps, so my ohms are way high to kick out some big clouds, but it seems to work. Scratches easily, since it is soft aluminum, but for a cheap price, I have a hybrid to experiment with. I would say it is a great novice piece. Nice kit, and worth it for sure. The top cap and drip tip are looser then I would prefer them to be, but meh... You get what you pay for.
