Also guys another thing that I did for this mod to make it better was go to Lowes and get a larger oring for the top cap to make it fit snugger. With the original one it just kept poping off with the slightest pressure. They are located in the plumbing section. I believe the one that Im using now is #34 size oring.

I had the same problem, but I just wrapped some dental floss under the o-ring and it fits a lot more snugly now.

I actually got the Noble 1. I can honestly say that I'm extremely happy with it. Never had to mess or make any adjustments. With all the modifications being made with the elite wouldn't it been easier just ordering the real deal? Like to hear your input.

I didn't need to grind the smooth side of the female piece, although you could take a little off there if you need to. I've notice from pictures that some Chicago Screws appear more rounded than others. You might need to flatten the bottom a little to get the screw to seat down in the white Delrin piece. A tiny drop of glue on the side of the bottom brass piece will keep it in place if that is a problem. Not on the bottom...A little more off one end or the other and you should be golden with no gaps.

I got mine from TSC and it is more rounded than flat. I ground down one to where it was almost flat and it fit pretty good in the spot where the old metal piece was. I tried grinding the screw and the female threaded part down so it was short enough for me to screw the switch in all the way and if I go any smaller, there aren't many threads left for the screw to catch. But I guess it wouldn't really matter as long as it makes contact with the battery.

Off topic a little, but I also picked up some 3/32" SS 7X7 cable to try out in some gennies. Maybe even the HE.

Just got my hybrid today in the mail, hmmmm build it and was not really all that. It was kinda weak, saw the fix to replace the spring with some bronze. I also got my chi you clone from ft today (hits pretty hard .... would day its a good clone, i would use it outside cause i dont care if it gets scratched or dropped). Just tried and the threading for the RH hybrid and the chi you clone are the same !!!!!! sooooo as you can see in the pics ...... its not a perfect fit but it hits HARD ..... will see if i can get the swap out for the spring for the RH hybrid but for now this is what im rocking .... and its goood.

Yeah I'm a bit lost here too. I think I've got another top cap spring from a Sigelei 19. But I'm guessing you're talking about replacing the spring that's on the bottom of the Hybrid Elite with this spring, and I can't pop mine out.

CountSmackula where are you adding a spring to get performance? I'm always down for a little performance gain.

Awesome! Could you give us a link to the exact clone from FT that you're talking about? I've got an order that could ship from them any day now, but I would be willing to swap out one of the clones I've got coming for whatever it is you've got.

I`m sure it would be easier to get the real deal but its not the same. you get what you pay for, i get what i build. I would never say the Noble 1 is a bad choice seeing i never used one but making a mod work is half the fun. once its perfect you move on to the next imperfection.

I can understand your position. My Sig#20 doesn't quite compare to my Roller, but it served its purpose.
But I don't use, nor do I want to use 18350 batteries, so the Noble 1 (and many other hybrids) are automatically off my list.

For the ~$40-ish dollars I spent on the Elite, I don't mind doing a few tweaks. As it is now, it performs quite well. But I'll do a few other things, polishing the switch shaft to get rid of the 'gritty' feel & the Chicago screw spring replacement... later when free time presents itself.

They are called Chicago Screws. Ace has them among the small bits. No misfires or voltage drops that I get with springs in my devices.

what are the chances you know that ACE number "part number". my woman works there and has access to there computers to order anything but cant find them. maybe we can get a good deal. yeah, its cheap but i could only find in bulk of 5 or 10+.
