Juice-wise my ultimate fail for a highly touted was Wyatt Earp, it's likely what drove me to DIY. I can't complain too much because it saved me from ever trying any Mother's Milk, Boba's, Pluid, 5 Pawns or any "premium" juice out there. Runner-up goes to commercially produced NET juice from anywhere, the NET I steep myself is far better.

Hardware-wise the Smok Mega Dual Vertical Coil Cartos with the most horrible tasting filler ever conceived. Happy to be building all my coils these days, and seldom do any dual coils in anything. Even modified my Orchid V4 to run a single coil, vapes beautifully.

My very first bottle of juice was High Caliber Red & White, it tasted just like siphoning a gas tank. So it's no wonder that I finished off that last pack of smokes that day.
Odin by BW 105, it tastes like Ivory soap.

Zen-2 DX-490, absolutely the worse mechanical mod ever marketed. "you need to rock the switch to the side to make contact" ........ give me a brake! Battery rattle, "it was designed to do that" ........ ya-right! "It vents through the switch" .......... how can it vent through the switch if the venting gases can't get in the switch?!? HOV had EXCUSES for everything instead of fixes!

    Festering turd....lmao.

CE2 cartomizer my buddy gave me last year...required syringes to fill, burnt dry hits every other attempt, little vapor, poor draw....
This fooled me into thinking I had tried vaping and was another year of smoking before I tried vaping again...this time with a Kanger Evod. Then I quit smoking.

Aspire Nautilus and mini, both disappointing for me. I know everybody raves about them, but for me they were nothing but machine oil/metal taste and dry hits. Used them on innokin MVP. I found them Slow wicking and could never really get them to work right. tried letting them sit overnight and wick, 'breaking in' new coils...just didn't do it for me.

Moved on to an RDA and never been happier. using a Tobh RDA with a Nemesis mech mod. love em.

Juice: Cereal Killa such hype and my local vape store can't keep it on the shelves....I can't stand that sour lemon aftertaste that even lingers around in my wicks tainting future drips with its' foul clinging essence.
Mount Baker Bloodbath, such a cool bottle, name, artwork and color....can't stand it.

I buy a lot of juices thinking I like them at the shop when I sample them, only to hate them when I vape them later. Maybe I'll like them more in another couple of months.

My all day vape is vanilla custard The General from Nebicus Nebula, nothin fancy about this, it's actually very plain. I drip Beard No. 5 strawberry a couple of times a day.

I completely forgot about Cereal Killa.. I couldn't get the lemon taste out of my coil in my nautilus mini and had to toss it. Really didn't enjoy this juice at all!

I tried to look up vanilla custard The General from Nebicus Nebula and the good guys store is requiring a password for it. Any ideas why? Is there another place you order it from?

    Thanks,
    Dani

    oops, sorry.
Epicus Nebula brand The General is the juice flavor. (it's not called vanilla custard, that's my short version of the flavor description).
I picked it up at my local shop.
just googled it, this site has The General, and looks like you can order online.

Johnston Creek instantly gace me burnt taste and super harsh dwbiliting hits in my evod and pro tank minis. It was so bad I almost had to quit. Truth be told, I had to stop vaping for 2 or so months after that.

Who knows.. Maybe I was just doing it wrong... And I bought so much of it trying to chase the blu cig tobacco flavor.. maybe it would work better in a carto.. I'm not willing to find out though..

Now, through a blu cig, I got no problems.. That's not with my own JC liquid though… just the stock carto.

I still love the blu pipe tobacco flavor when it hits sweet.. Very unreliable though.. A trick to make it sweeter though is to twist the blu carto in your mouth until you find the sweet spot! Durant work 100% of the time but does more than half the time if the carto is relatively fresh! Who knows how log they've been sitting on a shelf though… I keep bad cartos until I can fill up a box and then just return that box to walgreens... Just keep receipts.

When you sample at a store its usually 0% nic.

Gear can play a very large part in e-Liquid Flavor. Build, even larger.

Very true. And the other side of that coin, a bad/untried juice can make a good setup seem bad. I usually try to stick to known builds/devices when trying new flavors, and known e-liquids when trying new builds/devices.

Mixing and matching a bunch of unknowns can often skew results.

I don't even know if the products I could gripe about were ever considered "hyped" at one point, but I do have a list and LOL why not get it off my chest.

    1) Kanger Mini Protank 2. Mainly coil issues. I work in a B&M and cringe whenever I have customers ask for Protank coils. But the tank leaked a lot. I don't dislike all Kanger products; I'm using the Aerotank Mini on an MVP2 at 8.5 watts and it's working fine (for the purpose I use that setup) and the newer EMOW kits seem awesome.

    2) Add my name to the Mother's Milk "whaaa?" list. I had a love affair with that flavor for approximately three days when I could really taste a lovely creamy strawberry. Soon the flavor became tangy and left an unfortunate aftertaste. I bought two more bottles just to make sure it wasn't just a one-off weird bottle. OTOH I just got a bottle of OB and so far I'm happy with it (in an Atlantis).

    3) Very sadly, Custard's Last Stand was a great disappointment. Even kept trying it periodically but after a four-month "steep" almost half a bottle made its way to the trash can. "Taste is Subjective"

    4) SVD. Fire button issues, of course. Had it for a month before it turned itself off far too frequently to be attributed to user error. PIF to a friend and she reported it stopped working beyond redemption another month later (about three months after purchase).

    5) Five Pawns Castle Long Reserve (just my preference) and Perpetual Check. Again, I work at a B&M and whenever someone comes in all hyped to try it for the first time I just keep a poker face. Lol

    6) my first istick's threading stripped quickly. Afterwards I installed the 510 connection on my other two and no issues since.

7-1000) The multitude of e-liquids I've bought in the hopes I'd find a new ADV. Now I'm content to almost really love three flavors. I hate being so picky but I just can't fall in love with fruity or candy flavors.

On the other hand, I'm extremely happy with the gear I own now. Between some box mods and knowing how to rebuild (not to mention the Atlantis) I'm a lot less prone to buy duds or a product I'm not sure will perform well. The learning curve was steep and I didn't include a bunch of things (mainly tanks) that were stumbling blocks to the place where I am now in my Vaping journey. It's frustrating trying to help customers who are having problems like the problems I used to have without ending up overselling to them for where they are comfortable being. The best I know to do is reassure them that they can get to where they want to go if they are patient with the learning process, and not every coil will work as well as the last one.

I always stick with a simple micro coil on my Magma when I try new juices, I seriously can't get enough of this RDA
