Anyone tried this? I thought it to be kinda hokey hocus-pocusy kinda stuff, but....seems to be pretty successful from what I've read. I lack self control, and I've gone days cold turkey only to cave to temptation and have an analog or use my 901. I love the idea of E-cigs, but I want to be free of nicotine addiction, whether it be e-cig, marlboro lights or snus. Last night tried quit-smoking hypnosis for the first time. It was very strange, a little bit surreal to say that least. Put the mp3 on (I downloaded like 5 different ones), turned off all the lights and layed down to listen. Very soothing voice. Maybe it was placebo effect but this morning I didn't even think of having a cig or vape first thing I got up. I had 2 cigs on my way to work, usually I have 4-5. I'm going to try it again tonight and every night, maybe it will work? Supposed to work on your sub counsious and thats what gets me relapsing over and over.

I use a form of self hypnosis to manage stressful situations but as a therapist I have used hypnosis in treatment. You can get loads of info about gradient relaxation from the internet by searching for the 2 terms together. The key to hypnosis is pairing the undesirable behavior with an undesirable image easily pictured mentally. For instance one could pair chocolate chip cookies with moldy or spoiled bread. Reinforcing the message with positive thoughts such as the lack of craving once the session is thru also helps. Hypnosis is all about interrupting habitual thought patterns.

I suspect that the money spent for sessions via a hypnotist also helps to overcome ridding one of undesirable behaviors. Make sure you find a reputable (and possible certified) interventionist. A good clue would be a money back gaurantee. Read the contract carefully because some state that if you receive any benefit, even simple relaxation or a sense of positive control, you are not eligible for the refund.

Good luck! :D

I use EFT on everything. EFT got me off those last few analogs I needed every day. Hypnosis works, but EFT is better.

EFT is based off of 5000 year old Chineese Accupuncture. Except EFT uses no needles.

EFT is 100% free, portable, quick, easy, can works on allmost anything bothering you physical and emotional issues.

EFT is also more commonly known as Tapping. I Tap on Everything. It is unbelievable untill it actually works for you!

Nope, did not work for me at all...tried it 3 times, each time with a specialist for smoking hypnosis. I walked out afterwards and as soon as I got out, I lit up a cigarette :)
Very expensive and did not work for me at all. 8-o

It's funny how it works great for some and not at all for others.

I tried a hypnosis session, as part of a group, each of whom paid $50. The lecturer was excellent. Extremely scientific in his explanation of smoking and its consequences. That was worth my $50. I liked him, learned from him.

But the hypnosis failed me. I discovered I am not visually oriented. I cannot conceive graphics. I'm a writer; I sometimes dream pages of text and read the words while I sleep. I do not think "images". I think "prose".

So the suggestions he made were ones I couldn't translate. "An orange blob enters your lungs and begins cleaning them." What orange blob? I couldn't conjure up any orange blob.

Side note. As we all left the auditorium - about 50 of us this night - I could see cigarette lighters flicking to life all across the darkened parking lot.

hey all,

About 8 months ago when I decided to give up smoking it was the stress of it all that was really making it difficult for me. If you ask my mum she'll tell you I became unbarable....but then she asked me to try self hypnosis downloads. I was well sceptical but you can't really turn down a request from your mother, and to my surprise it helped with my stress levels and helped me not to turn back to cigerettes! So I would recomend it to anyone, although many people are sceptics it was good to see a post that supports new ideas like this.

I was hypnotized back in 2004 and it actually worked... The hypnotist told me there was a year guarantee. On day 366, I bought another pack. I kid you not.

Maybe your hypnotist wanted you to come back for another session after a year?

Was there something left in your subconscious mind about a 20% off for repeat customers?

I have also been to one of those "group" sessions. I agree with Bob, the guy that did it seemed very good and had a lot of information. Mine worked for about a week. :(

Currently though using ecigs and my own DIY juices I have cut back from 18mg of nic a day to 10mg. Yes, I do plan on cutting all the way down to 0mg eventually. But odd I do not plan on giving up vapping completely as I enjoy the act.
