I´m modding a 601 pipe, should I dump the batt holder or use it?

Hi guys, I´m modding a pipe for a friend´s father, he´s been having a lot of trouble with the vacuum switch, so I´ll put an Ego switch so he can use cartos or attys. My only doubt is if I can use the original battery holder and just sodder the wires to the ego switch or will the electronics in the holder cause trouble, being that the switch has it´s own electronics?

I guess I could chop the batt holder and remove the electronics, but I want to know if it´s really necessary.

pics would help . not sure what sort of circuitry is in there. what kind of battery is in the pipe?

I took out the circuit board and wired directly to the battery cup, but i found these pics online:

That was probably the best move. So... Is this pipe running on a built in battery or a cylindrical cell? I would like to see pics of it

It´s got a 18350 cell, the default DSE-601. I just took the batt holder and solder it to the Ego switch, so it can use cartos, carts, tanks, whatever....

Something like this: Pipe Mod but with an ego switch.
