I am having a dreadful time

Yes, it has been incredible all the support from everyone here - both on the board and the PMs.

To answer many - It's Hunter's Friend Resort on Indian Point, just south of Silver Dollar City. Please feel free to swing by anytime and introduce yourself. We have 5 employees and all 5 of us are smokers. If I can kick this, I swear I am going to buy a set for my employees to help them if they want.

I was being fairly tongue in cheek when I mentioned a regional gathering here but obviously, there is a lot of interest in something like this. So if someone here could direct me to the correct people to talk to, I have no problems with setting something like this up. Would be incredible to see, meet and learn from "experts" vendors, modders, etc.

I'm in the same wagon, I've tried over and over to kick the habit and bought who knows how much stuff to do so. I just got some WTA after my bf suggested that it would be good for people like us and mixed some of my favorite juices with it. So far I was able to cut down on the analogues and not get that anxious feeling all the time. I also changed my way of thinking. Instead of kicking myself every time I do have an analogues I just pat myself on the back every time I decide not to have one. I think adding pressure on yourself to quit and quit right away only adds to the stress. I've cut down and I think its a battle won every time you decide NO.

Just checked out your website. You have beautiful place. It would be a great location and a great time for a vape Meet. I would certainly be amiable to something like that! I haven't found any other vapers here where I live. As far as I know, I'm the only one in the area. It's a small town. Very few of my friends are smokers, so I don't even have people to help stop. But vaping has sure saved me. I am almost 2 years free of analogs. I smoked even after two bypass surgeries. So just for encouragement sake let me assure you, You Too can lick that habit. I'm pullin for ya.

Hunters Friend, I started using a Joye 510 (cigalike) the month before you began vaping (August 2009), and was unable to make the switch to vaping. For two years I tried and tried, but cigs always won the weekly joust. It was in September 2011 that I upgraded my hardware and raised my nic level from 18mg to 24mg. That did the trick for me - almost. About 2 or 3 months into vaping exclusively, the cravings were driving me nuts. That's when I tried WTA juice...and the cravings went away.

I haven't tried snus, but many swear by its effectiveness.

As for that "plastiky" taste/feel, I get that from cartomizers with filler material. Many folks love Boge or Smoketec cartos, but I can't stand the after taste of 'filler material'. I suspect you may have similar sensitivity.

For ME, a 32+ year habit of 2 paks/day Marlboro/Winston was broken with...
(1) Better hardware - Ego batts with Fluxomizers...or better yet - Stardust clearomizers (fiddle free vaping), and a Lavatube (for variety, and being able to 'tune in' to the best voltage for whatever flavor juice).

(2) WTA eLiquid. There are currently two suppliers of WTA, and both have excellent product. Both have let me down from time to time, by being out of stock, but both have always come through and fulfilled my orders. Vapelicious.com has great flavors (mostly PG based) with multiple strengths of WTA available. Aroma.com has great flavors (mostly VG based) with one strength of WTA available. I like BOTH vendors, but you should also know that BOTH will be out of stock from time to time.

(3) Backups for my hardware and juice...and backups for my backups.

It might help you to know I was UNable to taste much flavor from any of my liquids, until after about 3 to 4 months of being analog free. Not only did my flavors come alive, but I was no longer able to consume HOT SALSA or HOT WINGS...had to go to MILD heat, or my mouth was on fire!
(Tabasco sauce really IS HOT! YIKES!!)

There IS 'freedom' ahead, but each of us have to identify the hardware, flavors and optional supplements (such as WTA or snus, if necessary) to make our journey successful.

You can do this. Don't kick yourself for not making the switch immediately. Celebrate each analog you avoid. When you 'get it right', you'll eventually be surprised to notice you prefer vaping to smoking. When THAT happens, you'll be good to go, and it will come effortlessly. (If it ain't effortless, keep looking for the 'right' hardware, eLiquid or supplement.)

Good Luck!

(I'm celebrating 10 MONTHS analog free in a few more hours, and I'm STILL amazed! :D)

Thank you. We have a good time here.

I don't want to put something like this together without talking to the owners of this site. Obviously that is in poor taste. Additionally, I don't know any of the industry talent. i.e. the MFRs, the modders, etc. People who could put our convention center to good use and demonstrate for others to see. If there are 10 people who sign up to come, that will almost certainly guarantee no interest from a retailer. If we have 100, you would see 2 or 3. If it is 300 then you get everybody. Like I said, I will donate the CC for free. Anyone can show their wares, demonstrate their product, give classes - you name it.

So if anyone here can tell me the Admin I need to speak with, that would be great. We will see where it leads to from there. Vaping, meeting, vacationing. Could be a good time.

I am sold on the WTA and don't even know what it is. LOL Just seems that a lot of similar people to me are using it to get them through the really bad times, and man I have plenty of them...

Thanks again to all the help.

What a GREAT post. We are almost identical in many regards and in that I feel a symbiotic understanding with you.

"...I get that from cartomizers with filler material..."

So I am not nutz?!? I am relieved someone else has experienced the same sensation.

Thanks for the heads up on the availability issue. I could see me using that for a crutch as well.

I was a 2 pack-a-day smoker for 42 years, loved my cigs, didn't ever want to quit. But, last summer, I just felt I couldn't go another birthday being a prisoner any more.

Got a starter kit, and this is what I did. I figured I smoked 4 cigs an hour. Told myself that I would smoke 1 cig an hour, and vape the rest of the time until my next cig. Did that for about a week. Went to bed one night, woke up and said, "let's try vaping first and see how long I can go before I need a cig". That was over a year ago. You don't have to quit cold turkey, you do do what works for you.

I would recommend the WTA for you with an eGo Twist, a clearomizer, and some good quality juice. I make my own eliquid, but see if you can find a member named Mr. Mann. He is a tobacco connoisseur and can steer you towards those flavors,

I did the gum, patch, nicotrol inhaler, wellbutrin, chantix, acupuncture and hypnosis. Not a single one worked...this will. Just be patient and try everything you can.

Good luck to you sweetie ;)

Nope...not "nutz"...well...... ;)

As for a 'Vape Meet', that's a GREAT idea! I helped organize such a meet locally (last February), and we did most of it online, right here on ECF. We had a great turn out, complete with vendors, tons of door prizes, a gigantic juice bar, great food, and about 125 REALLY FUN FOLKS attending. Even had the VAPETEAM from Vape TV doing a live broadcast of the event.

For the thread where we organized the event, click the link below:

If you host such a Vape Meet, you'll have a great time and LEARN A LOT MORE THAN YOU EVER WANTED TO KNOW...and you'll meet more good folks to inspire you than you'll ever be able to imagine! :)
PLUS...believe it or not, you might have folks coming from all over the nation. (We did.)

Vape on.....

Thank you again.

Okay, first things first. Lots of suggestions and the VV seems mandatory. I have found this kit and would like some input, yes or no. eGo C Twist 1000 starter kit

The price seems fine and it appears to meet the suggestions of the board.

IRT the VIP (Vapers of Indian Point) it looks like there is a ton of interest in doing something like this.

I would like to talk to you more as well as the other people who have written me in PMs etc. to get a better understanding of who I should speak to for attending, plus look at some dates.

Need to hurry up and get this stuff ordered before the mail leaves for the day.

Hi Hunter,

You really aren't that far from me, I am near Joplin. You are right in many points yuo made right down to cigs being cheap here, many people because of how much they spend per pack have no idea just how much more vaping costs some of us money wise. It is still very worth it once you find the right combo for you.

Because of one of your posts when you where saying that about not wanting to screw and unscrew for charging I would not suggest a twist, it charges the same as the others you have. But you should look into a VV Apollo has their Vtube for 30% off witht he code vtube30. While I haven't tried the WTA juices that does sound like something you may want to look at.

I don't have a VV yet myself, I can say that even with my BB, it wasn't easy to get through the first day without just reaching for a pack. I had been smoking and vaping for a few months, no where as long as you mind you. I started out using the vaping to cut back, then finally replaced it all together.

I had started with lower nic juice because of smoking too, and that was a big part of my issue. The 24 mg did it for me, but remember even with the 36mg juice you won't be absorbing as much nic as you do from cigs.

I'm a fan of the eGo-C but if you suck hard you may not be. Sucking too hard causes flooding, flooding causes leaks.
I haven't had a problem with eGo-Cs keeping up with me. If they do fall behind it's a matter of giving it a shake or a primer puff. If you put a little effort into learning how to use one I think they are very reliable and even look good.

As far as the exact link you posted, absolutely not. That is not an eGo-C. That is a Twist battery with clearo heads. There is no deal with that kit, you are paying for each and every item include.
That has been determined to be a real Joytech Twist and the seller isn't educated enough to know Joyetechs are 1000mah, but it looks like they're in the process of fixing their description.

If you want a genuine Joyetech eGo-C (you need genuine to get a Twist) I suggest, https://www.cignot.com/product_p/kit-egc-all.htm
If you want a Twist with some Clearos I would still use Cignot (they will probably get the mail to you quickly given your location and theirs). Get a single Twist battery, eGo-C USB charger, USB wall adapter and a single Stardust. Total cost $49. Throw in a Boge and a Smok Tech and you meet the free shipping limit with a total of $60.
You'll have 3 different heads to decide on and you won't be stuck with 2 Twists if you decide you don't like it.

I've not heard of this vendor.
Also Joyetech doesn't make an 1100mah Twist, it may be a knockoff.

Here's a vendor I trust and the price is lower and you have more choices

http://www.sweet-vapes.com/shop?pag...color_plus.tpl&product_id=1204&category_id=38

There was another thread on this with someone asking after the fact. It has been determined that this is a B&M shop but the people running it (or writing their website) are not completely educated on Joyetech.
They have a FB page and there has been pictures posted of the Twists they send out.
The person in the other thread also contacted them and they said it was an error.
