It seems that every dual coil nickel build I do ends up with an intermittent short. I put the build in, put it through the routine. Checks out fine on the ohm meter...put the chimney on...recheck for a short. Put it on the mod...set the resistance...it's good. Fill the tank...one last check..fine. Vape for a bit and "short!" shows up on the screen. Then it will fire again. Pull out the deck...screws are tight...nothing touching. Good on the ohm meter...good on the mod...reassemble...recheck...good. Vape for a bit.....yep, short shows up again...and then it fires fine.
Happen the exact same way on the Billow 1&2, Goblin. I keep the coils well above the air holes and have zero issues with a kanthal build. AND my single coil nickel builds are lovely and work flawlessly even if I say so myself...
So color me puzzled. I'm open to any suggestions as the dual coil builds put out outstanding flavor.
Using 28 ga nickel....2.5mm dia....11 wraps....07 ohms
