I've read for days in mostly closed threads so can't post my question. The information I have read is so conflicted that I can't ascertain the answer to my simple question:

Ejuice containing nicotine is absorbed through the skin... right. Ejuice vapor containing nicotine is absorbed through the skin of the mouth, lips, throat and lungs... right. So, at what point does it become dangerous? I ask because I vape either 12mg or 6mg juice and often get the liquid on my fingers as well as chain vape. We all know about that ever-present box of tissue to aid with finger juice but does anyone run to wash their fingers right away? I don't and haven't had a problem even with hours of build up.

I bought 36mg unflavored base just to have as a stash should vaping be encroached on but reading so much about spillage of base and skin contact has me so concerned. I even wonder about wearing gloves. Don't those vaping 36mg juice get it on their fingers too? I'm trying to wade through the logic of all this without success. Can someone give me a simple answer to how much danger of toxicity there is if 36mg nic juice is absorbed from direct skin contact with the juice? Thanks bunches.

Rough "rule of thumb" 60mg of nicotine might be deadly for a non-smoker, about double that for a smoker. The toxicity of nicotine depends on rate of absorption, body mass, health of body, and natural, or built up, resistance to nicotine. Technically, 0.5-1.0 mg/kg can be a lethal dosage for adult humans, and 0.1 mg/kg for children.

Note the words "can". The same can be said of electricity as 0.05 amps can be fatal, but many folks have survived much higher ampere flow because it depends on a host of other factors.

So, for your example and using the rule of thumb, you would have to let 2ml of 36mg/ml juice fully absorb into your body before there is a potential of a toxic effect.

Same as alcohol, it's deadly, just not same amount for everyone.
1st day vaping I was doing it wrong, and probably drinked at least 0.5 mg of Nic.24mg juice. Still alive... but you know, many people are dead long ago according to FDA studies on tobacco usage...
And remember how ecigs are described from their side... it did scare me away from them few years ago.

Not encouraging to get funky with nicotine, just don't panic or drink it :)

I DIY mostly i have had more then my fair share of 36mg on my hands, and noticed nothing if washed off as soon as possible.
also i regularly build my atomizers or adjust the coils/wicks inside when they are wet if need be and this is 18 to 24mg and sometimes its quite a while before i fet ti wash my hands, again no noticeable effects.

I would assume consistent and repeated exposure to the skin will eventually lead to a toxic level but usually we just feel ill, and the amount needed to actually make you sick or OD is considerable at 36mg.
