I've had one hell of a stressfull week. As many of you know, I'm shutting the glass shop down for the summer when my 180 liter liquid oxygen tank is empty. And it sit's ~1/4 full. I've just been swamped and have a tight deadline. I don't think I've ever had a deadline stress me out like this.

Here's an idea of my week (7 days work week, mind you, in a shop that's ~100*F). And really, it's been ~2 weeks non-stop 6am-10pm.

Pipe order for a shop in VT.:
100 spoons, 120 sherlocks, 50 bubblers (20 hammer, 20 sherlock, 5 sidecar and 5 laybacks). I have one more bubbler to do and I'm finished. But then I have a 10 piece jewelry order. It never stops. I know I shouldn't be complaining, because it is a nice FAT paycheck, but I can only stretch so thin. And any thinner and I'm torn.

I wish I had a shop ..... to do my prep.

Not to mention all the DOA stuff I've recieved in the mail the past few days.

Anyone else have a ....e week?

Thanks, everyone. If it was that easy to get someone to pull my glass prep (stringers, points, blanks, canes, dichro strips, etc.) I would have one already. Thing is, it takes time to train, or teach people even glass prep(eration). And I just don't have the time.

When it comes to times like this, I listen to music like this. It reminds me where I've come from (ie. "Sad side city street" "Get smacked off [iv dope] your head go down in drumroll glory [OD]") and where I am now and how much I have. Obviously I'm a guy and the singer's a chic, so the lyrics can be changed accordingly, but here's a good example. Not to mention, I'd do naughty things to current day Brody Dale. ;)

The Distillers The Young Crazed Peeling lyrics

Are you ready to be liberated
On this sad side city street
Well the birds have been freed from their cages
I got freedom and my youth
My name is Brody I'm from Melbourne
Fitzroy Melbourne Fitzroy Melbourne
I grew up on Bell St. then on Bennett St.
My mum kicked out my dad for battery
Found a way.... she found a way
She found a way out of spiritual penury
Working single mother in an urban struggle
Blames herself now cause I grew up troubled
It hit me I got everything I need (x2)
My one heart felt too much from the start
I've seen people come and go
Living large and living low
You can build up your walls sitting on death row
Let the curtain fall on your murdered soul
You can wash it all down swallow your story
Get smacked off your head go down in drumroll glory
You won't solve it committing self inflicted crime
Go on pull the trigger this will be the last time
It hit me I got everything I need (x2)
I speak of the truth the truth of the heart
Like a desperate thirst in a raging drought
Hey youth time flies by
Theres an everlasting battle for eternal life
I love a man from California
He's the prettiest thing we got the same disorder
The way you feel it's OK I don’t give a .... anyway
It hit me I got everyone i need (x2)
Are you ready to be liberated
On this sad side city street
Well the birds have been freed from their cages
I got freedom and my youth
Yeah I got freedom and my youth

OMG Shatner, I am having "one of those days" right now instead of weeks...... I want to bash my head into something and just sleep for the next 24 hours. UGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
Lazy people at work make me want to tell them where to SHOVE IT! Ahhhhh

Okay, I feel a little better getting that off my chest, but not good enough to get over the urge to scream at someone. :p lol I feel your pain today!

I can't believe anyone would call you a b*tch!!!! I think you're the SWEETEST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D

+1

And to top it all off, I stubbed my toe next to the little one on my left foot yesterday on a carpet/tile transition that I've been too lazy to put a threshold in. Yeah, I broke it. I can no longer say that I've never broken a bone. It's black and blue, hurts like a sob. I can barely push the clutch in in the truck, let alone walk. .....

I guess I'll be sitting behind the torch for the next week/until I shut down for summer.

...!
