Ive tried to put up with it for long enough, ive tried all those DIY fixes and everything under the sun. But it still taste like burnt ..... I run my Ptm2 on my Itaste Vv/Vw 3.0 and usually on 4.2 voltage on a 2.5 ohm head. Ive tried everything, i flipped the little plastic guard upside down, i rebuilt the atom head without one of the flavor wicks. ive primed it and dry hit it, i clean it thuroughly every two days.
What im trying to get at is , can someone please give me some troubleshooting things on how to fix my protank problem..

OR

Can you tell me some other good tanks i should get instead of using my ptm2?

Also im confused on what the different styles of tanks are, so if u can add what a Atomizer, clearomizer, cartomizer and what an RBA tank is.

i just want something that works better than my ptm2..

if i cant find anything better, im just gonna go back to my iclear 16's because i havent had a problem with them yet.

I save dead coils and wicks from my iClears. Use a small pair of scissors (like cuticle scissors - girls usually have these) to cut off the wicks, clean and dry burn the coil, then put 1 or 2 of the of the re-purposed cut wicks in place of the flavor wicks, replace the PT2 stem, and trim to fit. I hear you can also roll pieces of cotton balls, but I haven't had much luck doing that. They end up too thin. That may be user error, tho.

If it is any help I use a 3ml liquinator tank for work. ( I don't think the tank is the problem or solution but I use 3.0 bouges in it and burn from 3.5 to 4.0 depending on the flavor) That being said, I am not a huge carto fan, and you are getting more flavor off your protank than a carto provides. Because of this I am going to invest in a genny soon to replace my carto tank.)
A genny purchace sounds like your next step to me. For the record I dislike cartos since I do encounter a crap carto in about 1 out of 5 or so / as well as not being to vape thick or heavy sweet VG juices in them. Still, the carto tank does get me through 12 hour shifts at work with no problems for weeks at a time. At home I DRIP on either my heilos clone or EGO W3 which were less than $30 each. I use organic cotton instead of wick, and run from one to four coils at a time just depending on what I want at that time, or what I have set up in my rebuildables.

My cousin who got me vaping and off the cigs has his PT2 in his junk pile with a new head he never used because he moved on. I think protanks are great but RBAs and gennys are superior and easier to rebuild.
Just my two cents.

start lowest, go until it tastes good. Don't get greedy about wanting more vapor or flavor, at a certain point you've gotten all you can get without burning the juice on the wick inside of the coil.

You won't get as warm a vape from the protank as you do those iclears, ever.. (the coil is much farther away) I think the flavor is probably stronger in the iclears too, imo at least.

evod tanks seem to work really well, even though they use the same atomizer head as the protank, they're smaller.. maybe it has something to do with the vacuum being different, who knows.. but they're pretty cheap too, heads are replaceable, and they come in pretty colors /*shiny eyes*
