Does the evod take the same coil head replacements as the Mini Protank 2??? Just curious because I hate my Mini Protanks and if I order some evods, I want to make sure they are compatible.

sure are. look for the 2.2 or 2.5 ohm heads. they just seem to last longer from what I've read and experienced.

btw, hi fellow las vegan

Ive tried to put up with it for long enough, ive tried all those DIY fixes and everything under the sun. But it still taste like burnt ..... I run my Ptm2 on my Itaste Vv/Vw 3.0 and usually on 4.2 voltage on a 2.5 ohm head. Ive tried everything, i flipped the little plastic guard upside down, i rebuilt the atom head without one of the flavor wicks. ive primed it and dry hit it, i clean it thuroughly every two days.
What im trying to get at is , can someone please give me some troubleshooting things on how to fix my protank problem..

OR

Can you tell me some other good tanks i should get instead of using my ptm2?

Also im confused on what the different styles of tanks are, so if u can add what a Atomizer, clearomizer, cartomizer and what an RBA tank is.

i just want something that works better than my ptm2..

if i cant find anything better, im just gonna go back to my iclear 16's because i havent had a problem with them yet.

Yer running too many volts. Your mini PTII came with a little chart for setting your volts, use it.First check the Ohms on your coil with the VV 3's Ohms checker. A 2.5 ohm coil can read somewhat different, some of mine have read up to 2.9 and down to 2.3. But just for the sake of it, let's say it is 2.5 ohms. The little Kanger chart sez 3.8 to 4.1 volts. And don't puff on it like it was a steam engine. Take long slow cheek pulls. Pulling too hard on it will result in nasty hits. Have 3 or 4 pulls on it and then set it down for a few minutes to let that wick juice up again. When the vapor production drops off, put in a new or rebuilt coil. Keep your tank topped off, you get best vape on a newly filled tank. Maybe you're doing all of these things already, but if not, I hope this helps a little. The Minis are great little tanks IMHO.

If you hate those Mini PT II's I'll be glad to take them!! I have 4 in rotaion now but could use some more. I'm serious, I'll take them all. I've even got a bunch of Iclear 16's I'll trade.

Turn the voltage down. Also what mix juce are you using? I vape with a Smok e-pipe with an Nhaler voltage adapter and attached the mini PT2 at 2.5 ohms with an ego adapter. As it does with my Vamo at higher than 3.8 it will smoke it unless you are using a higher PG liquid. I use Pink Spot Vapor almost exclusively and got no burns off it. I will get burns off Artic Wolf at higher v's. My 2 cents......also use cotton as advised earlier, all my coils are modded with cotton. Search for it here or youtube.

Yes the coils are the same for the evod,pt2 pt2 mini and they work just fine in the original pt even though original protanks had one with a longer stem/chimney.

Seems to me that you may not like bottom coil tanks. The iclear 16s and 30s have top coil with wicks like octopi :) For me that gunks up my high VG juice, but probably better for you.

Since protanks use similar and in some cases same coils as T3s, Evods, etc. I dunno if you will be happy with them either.

This is PRECISELY why I moved to vaping with bottom feeders. None of that mess anymore. :)

You might check the rubber grommet on your pt2. If you scorched it, you will continue to get a burned lousy taste, regardless of what you do to the wick and coil. The pt, pt2 and evod all take the same coil.

even though i have read this(a few times) and somehow dry misfired this thing for an unknown time when i first got it,
this somehow just slipped my mind.(over and over again) i went thru the remove flavor wick dry fire the coil, blah blah blah and was getting frustrated as well. i looked at the head and i cant find evidence of the scorching without tearing into it, but a new head out of the foil pack is working awesome. i guess i just didnt attribute the taste to burnt rubber/insulator. now i know what that tastes like.

i put in a head for the mt3s in there and it works fine no leaks or anything yet. it is a smaller diameter and a smaller stack but it works, just that sealing face is smaller so its mosty the gasket making the seal. because of that the reverse wont work (a mini protank II head in a mt3s) i just wanted to see how it worked and i had more mt3s heads and only one spare proper ptII head.

long story short the heads work, and my mystery burntness is gone, and i can finally get to loving my ptII like i knew i would.

Burnt cotton or burnt rubber? You mention rebuilding the head...did you make your own coil? Did you rewick using cotton?

If you taste burnt cotton, your wick is too thick and is not pulling enough juice into the coil.

If you taste burnt rubber, there is a little rubber grommet that isolates the center pin from the body of the head. It may be that thing got a bit burned. Mine usually have some dark brown burn-looking discoloration but I've never tasted it.

If you taste burnt juice, just run at a lower voltage, say 3.7 to start.

Just try with a brand new coilhead and see if that makes a difference. Maybe it's best to toss the old one.
