I am very sensitive to vg. What's a good tank for high pg liquids?

I don't care for the nautilus much either............that is why I'm dumping all my subohm tanks & going back to nothing but Aspire nautilus. I only have 9 of them now & just ordered 2 more. My ratio is mostly 80/20 pg/vg.
So yeh I don't like them much.........just that I consider them the best atty out there.........oh heckydern I love 'em.:)

PS, someday I'll tell ya what I really think.:D

Well, my story is...I needed a tank that has adjustable airflow. Even though I MTL, I have a hard time drawing hard enough to get a good solid TH on what I was using (T2 Clearo) I still use them sometimes and hubby loves them! Top coil, nice warm vape.

I like higher-than-most ohms. usually 1.6 to 1.8. I'm not interested in going lower.

I read through the forum and researched for, I dunno, at least a couple weeks. I need pre-built coils. I CAN coil but I'm awaiting hand surgery or therapy or something, hurts like a big dog; and nautilus is the only one I found with no one complaining (well, not NO ONE, but very few) complaining about leaking.

I have very much more than once threatened to throw it across the room during refilling, but refrain cause I dunno if I could clean it fast enough that the puppy wouldn't get to the puddle. The head sometimes (OK, always) cross threads into it when I screw it back on, and I have to take pliers to take it out and try again. And again. And sometimes again. But I think that might be just me. I haven't read of anyone else having that problem. My hands shake a lot.

But it's giving me a good vape, I like warm; and I like the flavor.

If anyone at all has a suggestion for a top fill tank that isn't sub ohm and doesn't leak like a Harley leaks oil, I'm open to it, would welcome it, but again, I need premade coils.

My hands aren't even steady enough to replace cotton in a coil. Hubby can do it, but he's been working on major projects at work for a few months now, and he's so mentally exhausted by the end of the day, I don't wanna ask for his help when I can buy coils and change them myself.

wow what the hell do you vape on! they seriously they have to be some small coils

I'm trying to answer the OP's question--he likes cartomizers and is looking for other toppers that can handle thinner juices. Most stock coils, dual and single, made by Kanger, Aspire and Eleaf (GS Air series), would be appropriate for him. They are small, ~1.5-1.6mm diameter, use high resistance wire, are very similar to carto coils, and they all handle high PG juices very well.

Kanger recommends 5.5-7.5 watts per coil, for example.

Most tanks that come with premade coils that I'm familiar with are bottom filled.

Me too. I hung with the cartos as long as I could, but the draw is just too hard.
Now don't get me wrong, I love the vape from the nautilus, it's just a pain-in-the-brain to refill. Moved from a mini to a regular size so only have to refill usually once a day. I'm happy enough with it to recommend it. I think, as I said, my problem is mostly shaky hands, not the tank. Could also be a bit QC lack on the replacement coils, but "it'll do". :vapor:

If you're willing to try a different tank, the new Eleaf GS Tank (3 ml capacity, comes with TC coils but takes regular GS Air coils also) is a nice choice. It's my favorite of the GS Air line and is quite easy to fill, even though it's bottom filled. It's quite inexpensive, compared to the Nautilus, and a great performer. Just make sure that your juice bottles are equipped with thin tips, like those:

30ML-1000PCS-Plastic-Dropper-Bottles-30ml-E-Liquid-Bottle-With-Childproof-Cap-For-Electronic-Cigarette-Empty.jpg_350x350.jpg

All you need to do is unscrew the bottom part of the atomizer, insert the tip into the filling port and squeeze.

It's on sale right now at RMV--use coupon code SUMMER15 for 25% off. Free shipping on orders over 14 dollars. It's a steal--if you want to try one.

    No you can't
Finally I'm not alone anymore :)

Since vaping I also found out I can't do the VG thing like everyone else my issues are not coughing or breathing that I can handle. I get bathroom issues every time I DIY my juice above 35% VG.

I'm a chain vaper who loves his fogger tanks and I never get leaking or dry hits anymore, this week I got the new UD Bellus and it's even way better then the fogger, its perfect. Can either be setup for dual or single coils, Plenty of clouds and flavor is outstanding with no leaking at all. Was about a 30 minute learning curve but all going well now. No dry hits and air flow is great with plenty of room for air flow adjustments, has two side air flow vents plenty of holes. I be ordering another soon.

If your problem is leaking, dry hits or air flow this is the RDA I suggest, though with dual coil setup it will eat up your juice though single coil it will last.

Crown subtank is top fill, and can get the 1.2 ohm coils for it...If I remember right VaporDNA has those coils, but they sell out fast..

    Hi there,

I've been vaping for around 6 years. In that time I have found that I am very sensitive to vg. I know this is uncommon and most people have the opposite reaction, but vg does not agree with me. If I vape a 50/50 mix, my lungs feel heavy and I develop a nasty cough. As such, I use pg heavy liquids. Usually 80/20 or 100% pg. These are very satisfying and don't cause any trouble. My problem is that it seems most tanks, cartos, what have you are more geared towards vg vapers. These tanks seem to be made to absorb thick liquids. My trouble is that often my thin pg liquids slip right through and don't get absorbed. I usually prime my cartos for at least 5 minutes before vaping. I also fully fill them 3-5 times before turning on the heat. With most tanks, I get a couple good hits and before they burn noxious hell fire. The only cartos I've ever found to work well are smok tech's 4.0 ohm punched tank cartos. I'm very satisfied with the results these typically produce, but they're increasingly difficult to find. None of my local stores sell them and I have to order them online. I was curious if anyone had a suggestion on newer tanks that would work well for pg based liquids. I vape at high voltage (around 4.8-5.4 V) with a provari. I'm not yet hip to the sub ohm devices/ tanks. Many of them may not work for me anyway as it seems that they are geared for heavy vg liquids. Anyway, I may be alone in my sensitivity, but I thought I would ask if anyone has found success with a tank for pg people like myself.

    Thanks, take care
With my 70pg/30 vg my nautilus mini's do great in cooler weather but gurgle like most bottom coil tanks in hot weather outside. My new kayfun lite v2 plus is fantastic for flavor if you don't mind building your coils and wicking.

I've never understood the fascination with the Nautilus; I thought it sucked rocks. In fact anything dual-coil sucks rocks.

I vape 85% PG for the same reason; if I use any more than about 15%-18% VG, I can't breathe at all, it feels like there's a hairball in my chest I can't get rid of to save my life. But if you have cartos "frying" with high-PG juice, it's not the high-PG that's the problem, it's that you're not priming them correctly; it takes time and patience.

I love Kayfun Lite Plus for a tank, used those exclusively for about 8-9 months. Nowadays I use an Achilles RDA, because it has a wonderfully tight draw, as tight as a carto, but really delivers the flavor, unlike cartos. I like building my own coils because that way "quality control" is ASSURED, and I don't have to wait around for the laggardly mailman to bring my coils.

The Achilles combines the best of RDA (top fill, none of that "vacuum" business) and RTA (it holds 2.5ml!); because of the tight airflow, you have to turn the power down (I had to drop from 10w to 9w when I switched to the Achilles from Kayfuns), so it's very conservative on juice usage -- as conservative as a carto, but again, so much better than a carto because you can actually taste what you're vaping, strong and clear, whereas cartos are just a tease, just a suggestion of flavor but not the whole flavor.

That's the old nautilus coils Andria. I hated the dual coils and the 1.5ohm horizontal coils. The current coils are 1.6 or 1.8 ohm vertical cotton single coils, and they provide a much better flavor and it seems to me even better the last few months, makes me wonder if they've made refinements. No they don't give the flavor of a KFL+, but for stock coils love my naughty mini's :) I do of course reserve the right to complain again when they start gurgling when the heat of summer returns haha :)
You've always tempted me with the Achelles. Like you did with the KFL+. And glad you and others did!:p

I still find my Achilles by far the best and most enjoyable and trouble-free vape I've enjoyed since I started. I should probably buy some more of 'em. :D But it's the flavor-standard that I found with the KFL+ that I compare the Achilles to, and they are damn close, though the Achilles at fully-open is somewhat like a KFL+ with the airflow about halfway closed. But I like that tight draw; not so much air to dilute the flavor.

I'm not an expert on the Nautilus; Aspire first made BDC coils for their atties (same basic design as Kanger duals) and then switched to single vertical coil design (BVC)--alas, they decided to wrap those coils in fiberglass... They switched to cotton, eventually, after a big to do from upset vapers, but I haven't tried those.

I understand. But dual coil doesn't mean more heat--actually, quite the opposite is true as each coil gets only half the load (power, heat) of a single coil at the same wattage: 10 watts thrown at a dual coil atty equals 5 watts per coil). But that's just physics. How we perceive things and what we like and dislike is a different matter altogether.
Actually aspire said those first vertical coils were wicked with ceramic. I saw pics that showed they were fibrous material. I think that's why they had the screen at top and they've kept that . Good idea. It should help minimize spitting too :)
