I really noticed the difference in nicotine intake when I started. Without the harshness or logistics of smoking to stop me from vaping like crazy... well, I vaped like crazy! It was hard for me to sleep because I vaped too late into the evening (later than I'd go outside to smoke, and more often). I also slept less because I was wired all the time.

I mention this because I cut down on coffee after I started vaping, not out of choice or necessity but because the nicotine was keeping me wired enough to not think about getting coffee. And *that* has made me drink way more water. More mornings than not my wake-up routine is water and a vape now.

Woah! Thats crazy! I've noticed that i've been alittle wired as well (normally drink alot of caffeine so thats not too odd for me) but I totally forgot that nicotine wakes you up a bit! I normally vape at night (probably not the best idea) but maybe I should switch that around soon! hahaha

Regardless, I just dont vape without water really... My mouth gets too dried out. And I like to vape. So I always have water near! haha

Im a 42 year old career firefighter, 20 years on the job, and vaping for a mere month. House fire yesterday with much exertion, high heat and high humidity. Had my blood pressure checked afterward by the paramedics in our rehab area. It was 122/64! It was always much higher when I was smoking. I was always what is considered prehypertensive and pretty certain medication would be in my future. Who knows, maybe now it won't!

I am probably drinking about twice as much water as I used to. My mouth seems like it is always dry while vaping. I also notice that I dont get short on breath nearly as much as when I was smoking. This has me so excited that I actually started jogging again, its been about 10 years since I have done that. I am down about 5lbs so far and am a lot less lazy now. I know for a fact that vaping is making me healthier, as I would never have gone jogging while still smoking. :p

That's great! Before you get too excited, you may very well be pre-hypertensive. The increase in lung efficiency from having stopped smoking (even after just a month) could explain why that was easier on your heart. More oxygen out of each breath, less pumping to get the same amount of oxygen to your body.

Oh, and I was in a house fire as a child. Thank you for being a firefighter.

I certainly agree that since I started vaping I'm making healthier decisions. I hated water & was addicted to soda. I'm drinking more water & caffeine free tea instead. The dog also gets longer walks! My blood pressure is down, which makes my doctor very happy! And I've lost a couple of pounds. I attribute it to getting some level of satisfaction...though not on purpose...from vaping sweet treats instead of eating them!

I guess that's a dig at me. Whatever.

Nah...that's just Eric's quirky and off center sense of humor!

My blood pressure has improved since quitting smoking and vaping. I was seriously hypertensive a few years ago..and have to take two different medications for high BP. But I'm much improved now. Still taking the meds, but hope the Dr. will take me off soon.

No not at all. I'm just strange lol, I actually didn't read your post. Sorry if you took offense my friend.

I have great respect for what you do everyday to help the community.

It's cool man. I misinterpreted. Sometimes I feel like a dousche talking about house fires and stuff because I spend a quarter of my life with all these rah-rah "tough guys". It's my job and it pays the bills. I think most of us are a little strange so you aren't alone in that.
