I saw someone post this coil build site Coil Toy - Online calculator for e-cigarette resistance coil building and I'm thinking I like it better than the Steam-engine.com site. But that's just me. If you're building a micro coil, just change the "spacing" to 0. It's a pretty cool site.
And IMO, 26 gage is pretty heavy stuff with a very low resistance especially if you want to build coils above 1.0 ohms. for example, 26 gage around a 2 mm post @ 1.5 ohm's = 18 wraps! Around a 2.5 mm post = 12 wraps! For sub ohm builds, it's great though.
Personally I'd start off with 28 gage for higher ohm builds above 1.0. But that's JMHO...
