I've been vaping 3 weeks. Not a big deal, I know. I was afraid that this method of quitting wouldn't work because its so similar to smoking that I would still enjoy smoking & would start back up again when I was weak/drunk/bored/etc.

Wrong.

Last night I was drunk, chain vaping. We were all around a fire outside. My friend (Who "quit") lit up a cigarette and said he only wanted a third. I offered to smoke a bit after him. I took a drag .. and couldn't inhale. It was just ash. Ash-taste. In my mouth. I gave it to someone else who wanted a smoke, drank some water to clean out my mouth and went back to vaping. Can I also mention, that I was REALLY drunk. If even drunk me can't handle cigarettes anymore, I guess I'm done with them. Also, the ciggie was the same brand I used to smoke.

I'm still hungover now .. but being hungover without smoking is so much nicer. I know it hasn't been that long, but I really think I successfully untrained my brain from liking cigarettes. Honestly, vaping (even liquids I don't like) is preferable.

That is awesome. I smoked for two days when i started vaping. And then after about 4 weeks of vape only I wanted to try a cigg and see if it was as i remembered
it wasn't it was nasty. So now after about 6 months from my first vape a cigg hardly ever crosses my mind and when it does I definitely don't want to smoke one

A funny thing about vaping is that, even If I pick up a regular cigarette. I put it down fast and continue vapeing. Whereas, When I went cold turkey, One cig was all it took to get me back to the old habit. One good thing about vaping is that, slip ups are so easy to recover from. I remember tell my mom,"Even if I smoke a cigarette, there is nothing about vaping that I dont like."

I felt the same way almost immediately after vaping the first day. I made myself finish the pack with one a day so I would remember how nasty smoking is. It almost worked too... I never lot up the last one and its been sitting there for two weeks now.

I threw away my last pack when I bought my first battery. Counted into my start-up cost. For me vaping is pretty expensive because I'm a student, so I told myself there's no way I'm investing in this & then letting it go to waste. Turns out its pretty hard. If I still had that pack it would also probably be sitting in the drawer.

Vaping is amazing because it really takes away the urge to want to smoke. I actually gag now around thick cigarette smoke and it makes me sick to my stomach. I NEVER thought I would get to that point that I hate cigarette smoke. Who knew! LOL I just try to avoid being around it now because I find it so awful and I don't want to barf on someone just for smoking! bnrk
